As part of the Pharmacy College's commitment to activating field scientific visits as a practical application to broaden knowledge and develop practical skills for students in the field of genetic research and raise awareness about the Egyptian Genome Project, the college had the privilege of hosting a visit for students of the "Cell and Pharmacogene Therapy" course to the Medical Research Center and Innovative Medicine of the Ministry of Defense, the executing entity of the Egyptian Genome Project. This project is the largest scientific project in modern Egyptian history and is the cornerstone of personalized and precise medicine and the focus of all medical research in the coming years.

The Faculty of Pharmacy at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) recently hosted the inaugural ceremony for the discussion of graduation projects, attended by representatives from the partner institution, the University of Greenwich, along with a host of deans and faculty members from various public universities' pharmacy faculties and representatives from the pharmaceutical industry in Egypt. This year's opening ceremony for graduation projects was distinguished by the activation of collaboration protocols signed between the Faculty of Pharmacy and pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, and pharmacies. Each company presented its products, offered job opportunities for students, and provided summer training opportunities in various fields.

Exceptional Achievement in Cancer Research by Pharmacy Students
The Faculty of Pharmacy at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) is incredibly proud and thrilled by the exceptional achievement of two of our outstanding third-level students Mohamed Ashraf and Farah Salim who shone brightly at the 16th BGICC (Breast Gynaecological and Immunooncology International Cancer Conference), the largest and most prestigious cancer conference in Africa and the Middle East.
Their groundbreaking research got published in the renowned 'Tumori Journal', one of the most well-recognized international journals in the field of cancer research under the supervision of Dr. Amr Abdelhamid, Associate Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Faculty of Pharmacy.
Constructive Assessment for Learning workshop
In partnership with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Faculty of Pharmacy at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) organized a workshop called 'Constructive Assessment for Learning' to enhance the capabilities of its faculty members. The Biochemistry Department, Faculty of Pharmacy at MSA,is thrilled to share the immersive success of recent scientific field trip of our Molecular Genetics level 2 students to the National Gene Bank to link theoretical knowledge with real-world applications. The focal point of this enriching journey was the exploration of three pivotal laboratories: the Molecular Genetics Lab, the Cytogenetic Lab, and the Cell Culture Lab. our students were given the unique opportunity to witness the real-world applications of their classroom knowledge and methodologies employed in the field.
The Faculty of Pharmacy and Bahya Foundation Drive Breast Cancer Awareness
Within the context of the collaborative efforts between the Faculty of Pharmacy at MSA University and Bahya Foundation for Breast Cancer Awareness and Treatment, and recognizing the vital role of pharmacists in the patient's treatment journey and their influential role in the medical system as essential support and reassurance for Bahya's warriors, the Community Service and Environment Development Committee organized a comprehensive awareness campaign on breast cancer on Sunday, December 10, 2023.
The campaign included lectures on clinical pharmacy, training, volunteering, and psychological support. The psychological support team provided awareness on the various support methods offered by the foundation to the warriors and their children.
This aligns with Bahya's continuous commitment, and it's worth mentioning that the campaign opened doors for pharmacy students to volunteer in various areas such as organizing activities, meals, workshops, and psychological support. The event witnessed significant participation from both students and faculty members.

The Entrepreneurship Committee, under the auspices of the Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, hosted Joviality, a natural cosmetics company, on Thursday, November 30, 2023. The event was attended by a large number of faculty members, assistant staff, and students.
Dr. Ahmed Shafik and Dr. Hadeel Fayek, founders of Joviality, gave a lecture on entrepreneurship and goal achievement in various pharmaceutical fields. They also showcased some cosmetic products made from natural oils and ingredients. The event witnessed active participation and numerous questions from students and faculty members.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eman Sherin Moustafa has been appointed the ambassador for the Swedish Addison Association for Addison's disease awareness in Egypt and the Middle East.
The Swedish Addison Association and the global Addison team have selected Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eman Sherin Moustafa, from the Faculty of Pharmacy at MSA University, as the ambassador for raising awareness about Addison's disease in Egypt and the Middle East. Addison's disease is a rare hormonal disorder resulting from the failure of the adrenal gland to produce its usual steroid hormones, especially the vital cortisol hormone.

The Community Service Committee at the Faculty of Pharmacy in October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) has organized a workshop entitled “pharmaceutical pricing” which was presented by guest speaker, Dr. Moataz Elhattab, an expert in the pharmaceutical field bringing 16 years of experience in multinational companies. His current role is Pricing& HTA Lead in Roche. He held this title for the last 5 years, before that, he was working at Pfizer for 11 years responsible for Pricing & market access for Egypt & Sudan.

Prof. Dr. Shahira Mohamed Ezzat - Professor of Pharmacognosy and Medicinal Plants and the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy for Community Service and Environmental Development has been listed for the third consecutive year in the Stanford and Elsevier Foundation's list of the top 2% of the most influential scientists in the world for 2022 in various fields worldwide.
This is according to a recent report published by the international publishing house Elsevier on October 4, 2023. The report relies on various indicators, including scientific publications, citation counts, H-index, and co-authorship, and it recognizes her efforts in advancing scientific research and the educational process while raising the status of the Faculty of Pharmacy at MSA University regionally and internationally.

The Faculty of Pharmacy at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) is proud to announce that within the framework of the cooperation protocol between the Elezaby Pharmcies and the Faculty of Pharmacy, a significant job fair between both parties took place.
Elezaby Pharmcies were thrilled to have had the opportunity to participate in the first job fair at MSA University's Faculty of Pharmacy, in order to support the training and employment of graduates. As a result, they were able to meet 150 graduates and accepted nearly 70 of them for training and employment opportunities in 2023.
We believe that events like these are crucial for bridging the gap between education and employment. We look forward to continuing our efforts to support young professionals in the pharmaceutical industry and beyond.

The Faculty of Pharmacy, October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA), witnessed the activities of the closing ceremony to discuss graduation projects for undergraduate students, which is one of the essential requirements for graduation, in the presence of representatives of the University of Greenwich, the British partner of the faculty of pharmacy, and a group of presidents, deans, and faculty members of faculties of pharmacy from various public universities and representatives of the pharmaceutical industry in Egypt. This year, coinciding with the closing ceremony of the graduation projects and in order to activate the cooperation protocols conducted by the Faculty of Pharmacy, an employment fair was organized in the presence of respectable pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, and pharmacies, where they presented their products and provided job opportunities for students as well as opportunities for summer training in various fields.
The closing ceremony was opened with a speech by Prof. Dr. Hanan Al-Laithi, Dean of the Faculty, in which she expressed her pride in the advanced level of research this year and its alignment with the sustainable development goals to achieve promising future health care solutions that meet international standards of the era of personalized medicine and artificial intelligence, wishing all students success in their scientific and practical lives.

The Department of Biochemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy invited Dr. Shady Shahin, a graduate of the Faculty of Pharmacy at MSA University in 2018, to deliver two lectures entitled "Sports Nutrition" for the Clinical Nutrition-PB412 course, in the presence of all the students of the course. This initiative aims to benefit from the experiences of outstanding graduates in guiding the students of the faculty towards the correct career path and as a form of professional guidance for students in the field of sports nutrition.

The Biochemistry Department at Faculty of Pharmacy at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) was honored to present posters of level 4 students' research in the biochemical changes related to different diseases and disorders such as fibromyalgia, Familial Mediterranean Fever, Post-COVID syndrome, early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease and breast cancer metastasis, colorectal cancer, Kawasaki disease, and Chronic Myeloid Leukemia, etc.
Following the 2030 WHO Agenda of Good Health and Well-being (SDG3), this event ensures healthy lives and promotes well-being at all ages which is one of the essential WHO sustainable development goals (SDG).
Analytical chemistry scientific day
Antimicrobial resistance is considered a global health and economical threat. In order to preserve clean water free from the residues of antibiotics and consistent with achieving the goals of sustainable development and Egypt's vision 2030, the faculty of pharmacy launched the Analytical chemistry department scientific day under the title "Analyst can save the planet", in the presence of fifth year students, which aimed to highlight the dangers of the presence of antibiotics in drinking and irrigation water in order to maintain a clean environment.
My Beginnings Project program
New achievement for the Faculty of Pharmacy, MSA University, two graduation projects for fifth-year students won in the “My Beginnings Project” program to support graduation projects in 2022/2023, which was launched by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology.
The winning projects were selected based on linking the graduation projects ideas to industrial requirements, creating new research projects, and aligning them with the sustainable development goals of Egypt's Vision 2030.

Organic Chemistry Fair Periodic Table Challenge
The freshman students of organic chemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy competed in this year's fair titled "Periodic Table Challenge" where they all came up with ideas to represent various elements of the periodic table.
Their creativity was assessed by the organizing committee and the Head of the Department Prof. Dr. Aliaa M. Kamal who presented awards for the best 24 students who had outstanding performance and innovation.

Molecular Genetics Scientific Day
Following the vision and beliefs of MSA University to meet the global standards of the era of personalized medicine and deal with newly emerging therapeutics such as immunotherapies, gene therapies, and RNA-based therapeutics. The Biochemistry Department of the Faculty of Pharmacy was honored to present level 2 students' research model maquettes of various molecular applications used in the discovery, early diagnosis, and prediction of different diseases.

Within the framework of cooperation between the Awareness and Training Committee of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Unit at the Faculty of Pharmacy, MSA University and the German Authority for Cultural Exchange DAAD, the Faculty hosted Ms. Heba Selim, a lecturer at the German Authority for Cultural Exchange, who led a workshop entitled "Strategic Planning as Core for Strategic Management".
The workshop dealt with how to develop strategic and operational plans in various institutions and their compatibility with national plans, and the role of leaders in drawing up different frameworks, defining strategic goals, and setting indicators of success.

Global Medication Safety Week Awareness
In conjunction with the Global Medication Safety Week and under the auspices of both the Community Service and Environmental Development Committee at the Faculty of Pharmacy, MSA University, and the Pharmacovigilance Association in Egypt, the fifth-level students who are currently taking the "Pharmacovigilance" course at the Faculty carried out an awareness campaign about the importance of reporting side effects of all kinds of medications, especially serious and unusual side effects, as well as simple side effects.

Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign
Within the framework of the cooperation agreement between the Faculty of Pharmacy October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University and Baheya Hospital, and within the belief of the faculty in the importance of supporting the health of Egyptian women, The Community Service and Environmental Development Committee hosted the awareness office of Baheya Hospital for the early detection of breast cancer from 24th of October to 6th of November, 2022.

The faculty member Prof. Dr. Shahira Ezzat - Prof. Of Drugs and Medicinal plants and Vice Dean for Community service and Environmental Development at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts -MSA was included for the second year in a row in the Stanford list of the top 2% of scientists in various fields around the world, according to a recent report published by the Siver International Publishing House, based on various indicators, including scientific publishing, number of citations, Hirsch coefficients and co-authoring, and the composite quotation index. It commends these scientists' efforts in promoting scientific research and educational process and raising the profile of the Faculty of Pharmacy of MSA University at regional and international levels.
The list was included for the year 2021 and announced on October 10, 2022.

Faculty of Pharmacy Graduation Projects 2022
The Faculty of Pharmacy, October University for Modern Sciences and Arts, witnessed the graduation projects’ opening ceremony of the senior students on 18/7/2022. The ceremony was attended by the University of Greenwich representatives, an eminent group of deans and professors of the faculties of pharmacy from various public and private universities as well as representatives of the pharmaceutical industry in Egypt.
Tourette syndrome awareness
MSA MWHO UNICEF committee held an amazing campaign with the aim of increasing awareness about Tourette syndrome which is a neurological condition that causes something called tics. Tics are involuntary, repetitive movements and sounds.

Field trip to Eva Cosmetics Factory
The Faculty of Pharmacy at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) organized a field trip for the 4th and 5th level students to Eva Cosmetics Factory.
The students had this field trip in correlation to their cosmetics course. On this field trip, the students saw the new techniques in manufacturing and packaging different anti-aging creams, shampoos, and hair care products.
In addition, they discussed some of the requirements that qualify the graduate to work in this field.
Pharma Overseas Company training session
Within the framework of the keenness of the Faculty of Pharmacy at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) to qualify its students to obtain distinguished training programs and excellent job opportunities in major pharmaceutical companies inside and outside Egypt,,,
Pharma Overseas Company, one of the largest drug distribution companies in Egypt, trained Faculty students from the fourth and fifth levels through a training lecture delivered by the Director of Education and Development at Pharma Overseas Company to qualify the students for the pharmaceutical labor market.
The lecture was attended by a wide range of students, realizing the extent of the desired benefit and the impact of this on increasing their employment opportunities
Analysts care about healthcare
Under the slogan "Analysts care about healthcare"; the Analytical Chemistry Department - Faculty of Pharmacy - MSA organized its 3rd scientific day on the 26th of May 2022. The students enthusiasm and their active participation were the corner stones for a fruitful day.
Around 100 students from all levels have participated by designing posters, flyers and creating animated videos aiming to raise public awareness to two main topics; the importance of healthy nutrition and the hazards of water contaminants.
Additionally, students presented 3D models for instruments used in analysis of food & pharmaceutical ingredients.

NAQAAE Visit The Faculty of Pharmacy
The Faculty of Pharmacy at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts was honored by a visit from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE) team as part of the faculty’s endeavor to renew the accreditation granted to it by the authority in 2017.
The team was under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Madiha Wassef, Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Zagazig University and the membership of Prof. Dr. Abdullah Al-Shanawani, Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Zagazig University, Prof. Dr. Ola El-Sayed, Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Al-Azhar University, Prof. Dr. Hani Nashaat,, Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Delta University, Prof. Dr. Huda Makhloof, Professor at Faculty of Medicine, Assuit University and Dr. Adel Magdy, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Al-Ahram Canadian University, who reviewed the faculty through a field visit. Congratulations for the DUPHAT 2022 winners
The Faculty of Pharmacy at MSA University congratulates its students for winning the second place in the 27th Dubai International Conference and Exhibition for Pharmaceuticals and Technology (DUPHAT 2022). More than 500 contestants from 50 Faculties of pharmacy around the world participated.
The students: Hady Gamal, Kareem Ahmed, Salma Alaa, and Rawda Ashraf from the fifth year won the award for 2nd best poster in terms of creativity using virtual reality “VR” in their graduation project “Treating Autoimmune Diseases Using Stem Cells” under the supervision of Dr. Sherine Mahmoud, Department of Biochemistry. Students used the stem cells in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis which is a chronic inflammatory disease that can attack other areas of the body.
Field Trip to EVA Pharma Factory
The students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Microbiology Department, went for a visit to EVA Pharma Factory for Pharmaceutical Industries. This visit was part of the activities of a workshop for the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the Faculty of Pharmacy and it included lectures from microbiology experts in companies such as AstraZeneca and Pfizer, and ended with a field visit to the microbiology laboratories.

The Faculty of pharmacy and the Microbiology department have conducted the first session of the annual department workshops under the title of “Microbiology in practical life”.

The 4th year students of the Faculty of Pharmacy who are currently having a cosmetics course had a field trip to L'oreal egypt factory where they saw the new techniques in the manufacturing and packaging of different anti-aging creams and different shampoos and hair care products.

Congratulations Engy Emad who won the first place PHocus Competition
October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) congratulates the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Office of the Egyptian Federation for Pharmacist Students (EPSF-MSA) as the student Engy Emad won the first place in the annual competition for the most important event “PHocus” under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hanan Al-Laithi, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Prof. Dr. Nora Abu Rehab supervisor of the activity. This event was hosted on Wednesday 7th of April, 2021 in the New Damietta with the participation of 37 Faculties of Pharmacy across the Arab Republic of Egypt, outperforming 74 participating students from different Faculties of Pharmacy in Egypt on the topic of the global epidemic of Coronavirus (COVID-19).
