Our students from the Faculty of Computer Science at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University), in collaboration with Nile University, tackled a Raman shift spectroscopy dataset from a Nature paper by Dr. Amr Essawi, a Stanford University postdoctoral researcher. They preprocessed 1377 features for encoding into a Variational Quantum Classifier (VQC) and built and optimized the VQC model using Qiskit.

Habiba Ahmed Adam - a student at the Faculty of Pharmacy, achieved third place in the Karate Championship (Kata) at the Egyptian Universities Championship, 51st edition, with the participation of all Egyptian universities.

Shahab Ahmed, a graduate of the Faculty of Mass Communication, Broadcasting Department, Class of 2020, is a filmmaker and content creator who has published his first novel titled "Gradual Emergence"  with Dhatik Publishing House. It was also showcased at the 2024 book fair in Hall 1, Booth A42.

Khaled Saleh Darbala - a Mass Communication graduate, class of 2023, received the first prize in three different categories for his graduation project "Beyond the Frame" at the American University Films Festival in its third edition.

The film won the first prize for the best short dramatic film, the best director, and the best screenplay. The judging panel was composed of Director\ Kamla Abu Zekry, Writer\ Ahmed Murad, Artist\ Ahmed Fahmy, Artist\ Mai Omar, and Dr. Mervat Abu Auf. In addition, the film was supervised by Dr. Nahla Sameer and Mr. Luai Fahmy.

Tamer Ashraf, a Faculty of Physical Therapy student, won the gold medal in the pole vault at the Egyptian Universities Championship, which was held at the American University in Cairo.

In the seventh edition of the Arab Student Star Pack International Competition, organized by the Lebanese Packaging Association "Liban Pack" on an Arab level, and under the auspices of the United Nations and the World Packaging Organization, the judging is carried out by a team of packaging industry experts from around the world. Students from ten Arab countries participated in the competition in three fields, which are, Save The Food, Visual Packaging, and Structural Packaging.

Students from the Faculty of Arts and Design, the Graphic Design and Media Arts Department, had six awards in these three fields, placing October University for Modern Sciences and Arts in the first position among the Egyptian universities participating in the competition. The awarded students are as follows:

For the fourth consecutive year, four projects in the prestigious international competition, the World Architecture Award (WA Award), in its forty-fifth cycle (Interior Design category), have excelled.

Amina El-Rehany, a third-year student at the Faculty of Arts and Design, has achieved a historic victory in the Swiss Open 2023 tournament, securing her first title in PSA championships. She shone in the final match, defeating the fourth-ranked English player, Asia Harris, with a score of 3-1 (11-5, 9-11, 11-8, 11-6). What's more, she also triumphed over the first, seventh, third, and fourth-ranked players.

Hassan Bakhit - Graduate of the Faculty of Mass Communication, Broadcasting Department, Class of 2022, and the champion of the Arabs and the Egyptian Cup, won the first and second place in the World Cup of Physical Strength held in Egypt - Hurghada, and he also broke a new world record in the scale of 67.5 with the participation of 19 European and Arab countries in the tournament Under the auspices of the Minister of Youth and Sports and the President of the Egyptian Powerlifting Federation

The "Triple C's - Carbon Capturing Construction" team won second place with a prize of 3,000 EGP for the "Mechanical Tree" project under the "Smart Planning" track in the Smart Government Hackathon hosted by Benha University.

A "mechanical tree" is a device that sucks carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere and helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It's designed to mimic the process of photosynthesis in plants, which naturally removes carbon dioxide from the air and converts it into oxygen.

MSA University would love to congratulate the Faculty of Mass Communication and the student Rana Essam as her documentary movie “Hayah” won the first prize in the category of documentaries in the competition by the Higher International Institute for Media at Al-Shorouk Academy with the participation of 44 media institutes and faculties and with more than 200 graduation projects. The Faculty of Pharmacy at MSA University congratulates its students for winning the second place in the 27th Dubai International Conference and Exhibition for Pharmaceuticals and Technology (DUPHAT 2022). More than 500 contestants from 50 Faculties of pharmacy around the world participated.

The students: Hady Gamal, Kareem Ahmed, Salma Alaa, and Rawda Ashraf from the fifth year won the award for 2nd best poster in terms of creativity using virtual reality “VR” in their graduation project “Treating Autoimmune Diseases Using Stem Cells” under the supervision of Dr. Sherine Mahmoud, Department of Biochemistry. Students used the stem cells in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis which is a chronic inflammatory disease that can attack other areas of the body.

Dr. Magy Hany, a graduate of the 2018 batch of the Faculty of Dentistry at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) is from one of the pioneering dentists to care for people of special needs including people with special mental needs, have learning difficulties, hyperkinetic, autism, dentists' phobia, cancer patients, obesity, the elderly and others with a certificate from "Ladies of Egypt", as she is among the list of the most influential and important women in the field of dentistry.

MSA University excitedly congratulates its alumni Dr. Mohamed Rafik on the successful completion of his Ph.D. in Architecture and Urban planning.

Dr. Rafik graduated top of his class in 2012 from the Architecture Engineering Department in MSA University. Following his academic excellence, he was granted a Scholarship by MSA Quality Assurance & International Partnership Unit, to pursue his master’s degree studies, in MSA’s British partner, the University of Greenwich. He graduated the master’s programme with distinction in 2014, producing a thesis entitled ‘Assessing the Sustainability of Public-Private-Partnership in Low-Income Desert Communities. The Case Study of Haram City, Egypt.’

The first award was for being the best short film Idea and the second award was a special mention for being the best child actor which went to John Angel.
