The importance of water treatment and recycling was also highlighted. The event included a survey of the extent of awareness of how to safely dispose antibiotics. Posters were displayed to spread culture and awareness of the harms of these wastes and methods of disposal using modern analytical techniques.
Antimicrobial resistance is considered a global health and economical threat. In order to preserve clean water free from the residues of antibiotics and consistent with achieving the goals of sustainable development and Egypt's vision 2030, the faculty of pharmacy launched the Analytical chemistry department scientific day under the title "Analyst can save the planet", in the presence of fifth year students, which aimed to highlight the dangers of the presence of antibiotics in drinking and irrigation water in order to maintain a clean environment.
