Mass Communication Students Gain Valuable Insights at "Advertising Workshop 101"
The Faculty of Mass Communication witnessed an extraordinary event as approximately 150 eager students embarked on a journey into the world of advertising at the "Advertising Workshop 101." This remarkable occasion took place inside the University premises. The innovative Global Digital Service Agency, marking the first time in our university's history that students have been offered real-world advertising training on campus.

On the 5th annual Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign, The Faculty of Biotechnology proudly organised a remarkable event dedicated to raising awareness about breast cancer and extending our support to the brave women who have confronted this battle, both physically and emotionally in cooperation with the Embassy of India, Bonsai studio and multiple medical laboratories ( El Moktabar labs, Nile Scan labs, Marakezna scan & labs, Prana clinic) at the Roman Theatre on October 31st.
Yoga sessions led by Anita Solanki from the Indian Embassy and Salma Tarek from Bonsai Studio provided healing and stress relief sessions to these courageous women.

Prof. Amr Abdelhamid has been recognized and awarded for being one of the best five research projects presented at the 19th Annual International Conference of the Arabic Association for the Study of Diabetes and Metabolism (AASD 2023) Member of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF).

This highly anticipated event featured the keynote speech by the one and only Professor Peter Stockwell (the university of Nottingham, UK). The keynote speech was nothing short of splendid, setting the stage for an unforgettable experience about practical posthumanism. The conference ended with a grand finale by Professor Robert Young (NYU, USA). The event was a resounding success!
Pharmaceutical pricing workshop
The Community Service Committee at the Faculty of Pharmacy in October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) has organized a workshop entitled “pharmaceutical pricing” which was presented by guest speaker, Dr. Moataz Elhattab, an expert in the pharmaceutical field bringing 16 years of experience in multinational companies. His current role is Pricing& HTA Lead in Roche. He held this title for the last 5 years, before that, he was working at Pfizer for 11 years responsible for Pricing & market access for Egypt & Sudan.
Faculty of Physical Therapy visited Al-Yasmine Elderly Home
Students from the Faculty of Physical Therapy visited Al-Yasmine Elderly Home on the occasion of the International Day of Older People.
In collaboration with Lebaladna, faculty members, staff, and students from various academic levels at the faculty came together to deliver a special lecture on the importance of proper and healthy nutrition for the elderly, as well as the correct posture for the spine.
Additionally, they interacted with the residents and engaged in fun interactive activities.
Thanks to all who participated in this wonderful day and contributed to bringing joy and happiness to the ladies at Al-Yasmine Elderly Home. We are working together for a healthier and happier community.

Accounting profession in the era of AI Session
The Faculty of Management Sciences at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) organised a successful session "Accounting profession in the era of AI", presented by "Mr. Mahmoud Hamouda " a member of the Egyptian Society of Accountants and Auditors and member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (Michigan State), which took place on October 21, 2023, at 10:30 am at the Student Services Building (SSB).
The event was chaired by Professor Mohamed El-Deeb, Head of the Accounting Department with the attendance of Teaching Assistant Yomna Elaraby. The session focused to provide attendees with a thorough understanding of the different types of professional accounting certificates, particularly in the field of accounting.

In its efforts to increase students exposure to the marketplace, the Faculty of Languages at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) carried a field trip to Conrad Hotel for its senior students accompanied by the Faculty Dean, Professor Soha Raafat and Dr. Hend el Hady.
Through this career day, the students got introduced to the hotels' and hospitality industry, professional activities, departments and management style. Moreover, they were given valuable sessions about the employability in this sector, employees’ benefits, how to write a CV to apply as a fresh graduate, how to master interviews, and how effectively work in its different sections.
Additionally, the sessions included Q&As as well as a meet and greet between our students and MSA graduates who are currently members of the Conrad Hotel family.
Biotechnology Innovative Competition (BIC) - second round
The Faculty of Biotechnology at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) has set the stage for the second round of the highly anticipated 'Biotechnology Innovative Competition (BIC)'.
The second round of the competition was held on Saturday 14/10/2023 and headed by Prof. Ayman Diab ( Faculty Dean & the ‘BIC ‘ Finals President). Moreover, the competition hosted talented students from various universities where participating students seized the opportunity to present their pioneering ideas, ranging from novel applications in genetic engineering to sustainable bioprocessing techniques. Participants were evaluated by a panel of distinguished experts and prominent researchers from various backgrounds. In addition, Prof. Abdelbarry Prince (‘BIC’President) was there to commemorate the day.

As part of this endeavor, the "Academic Seminars & Symposium" under the supervision of Prof. Gehan Safwat hosted a seminar by Dr. Ebtesam Abdel-Shafy, a post-doctoral fellow at the Cancer Genomics Research Group in Cape Town, South Africa. Her talk, titled "Beyond Omics: Unveiling Biological Secrets," explored advanced biological research disease mechanisms beyond conventional omics methodologies.

Students from the Faculty of Mass Communication have earned 7 awards in the Media Innovation Competition organized by the Media and Digital Transformation Foundation.
The competition featured the participation of 496 projects from 98 universities and colleges in Africa and the Arab world.
Winning the first place in the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects
Dr. Nermin Abdel Galil, Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture at MSA University, has won first place in the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects in the category of small local projects for her project on green rural houses in El Wadi El Gedid Governorate.
An awards conference was held to honor the winning projects in the second edition of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects in the governorates of El Wadi El Gedid, Asyut, and the Red Sea. The event took place at the General Diwan of Asyut Governorate and was attended by General/ Essam Saad, Governor of Asyut, Ms./ Hanan Magdy, Deputy Governor of El Wadi El Gedid, Engineer/ Amr Abdel Aal, Deputy Governor of Asyut, Mr/ Kamal Suleiman, Secretary-General of the Red Sea Governorate, and representatives of the executive committees in the three governorates. This event marked the preparation for the final stage of the competition at the national level and the country's readiness to participate in the COP28 Climate Conference hosted by the United Arab Emirates in November.

The faculty team participated for the fourth year in a row in the “Our Heritage” exhibition in the “Henna Firewood” competition organized by the Small, Medium and Micro Enterprise Development Agency to develop new products made from henna firewood material under the patronage of the President of the Republic, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, as part of the agency’s initiative to develop craft clusters and the experimental phase.

This is according to a recent report published by the international publishing house Elsevier on October 4, 2023. The report relies on various indicators, including scientific publications, citation counts, H-index, and co-authorship, and it recognizes her efforts in advancing scientific research and the educational process while raising the status of the Faculty of Pharmacy at MSA University regionally and internationally.

Faculty of Physical Therapy Hosts Anti-Smoking & Addiction Awareness Session
The Community Service and Sustainable Development Committee at the faculty of Physical Therapy organized an awareness session under the title "The Dangers of Smoking and Addiction and Their Negative Effects on Individuals and Society" on Monday, October 2nd. The session featured the participation of Dr. Hisham Gomaa, a specialist in psychology and addiction treatment from the Addiction Control and Treatment Fund, and a certified psychotherapist approved by the Egyptian Ministry of Health, as well as Dr. Salah Ashour, the Director of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation in the Ministry of Interior's Medical Services Sector.
The session addressed the problems and consequences resulting from addiction in various aspects of life, emphasizing the role of the state in tackling them collaboratively with all segments of society and its institutions to raise awareness among citizens about the risks of addiction. It also highlighted the importance of assisting addicts in their recovery process by introducing them to addiction treatment centres that handle individuals with confidentiality and professionalism, targeting not only specific groups but all segments of society through visits, tours, and meetings.

The Faculty of Dentistry Hosts Workshop on Fundraising Skills for Research Success
On Monday 25/9 and Wednesday 27/9, the Faculty of Dentistry, MSA University in collaboration with DAAD Kairo Akademie organized a two days’ workshop on Fundraising skills and best practices.
In this training module, attendees learned how to identify and mobilize a mix of funding resources to fund their research activities, needs and demands.
Participants were very interactive as they presented their research projects in an organized process that would help them in future grant writing and fundraising.

This summer marked a season of great achievements in collaboration with Systel Motorola and Digital Hub!
MSA Students Training Committee (MSA-STC), in partnership with Systel Motorola and Digital Hub, offered a total of 80 training opportunities to students majoring in Communication, Computer Engineering, and Computer Science.
Based on the cooperation protocol with Systel Motorola, Faculty of Engineering has organized three comprehensive summer training programs in the field of Networking and Cybersecurity, IoT, and Wireless Broadband Transmission, including 5G technology
During these training sessions, students had the invaluable opportunity to put their theoretical knowledge into practice by working on real projects at Systel's Abou Rawash workshop. This hands-on experience significantly enhanced their skills and provided them with practical work exposure.
Upon successfully completing their training, students were presented with training certificates from Systel Motorola and Digital Hub.

Titled "PT Role for Spinal Deformities, 3D Spine Analysis, and Treatment," this workshop was led by the esteemed Dr. El Sayed Ali Abdo Mohammed, an expert with an MSc from Cairo University and is certified in Schroth BSPTS & ISST and the Leon Method.
The workshop's primary focus was to dive deep into three crucial areas which are 3-dimensional Self-Correction, Training Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and Stabilization of Corrected Posture. Moreover, it was remarkable with the active participation of our dedicated faculty members, ensuring that it was a hands-on learning experience that participants won't soon forget.

The Faculty of Biotechnology Empowers Students with HPLC Training
To complement the faculty of Biotechnology continuing role in motivating and fostering students’ scientific abilities and practical hands-on experience, the faculty organized a training in collaboration with the Central Lab in Agricultural Research Centre during the last weeks of the summer break.
Eighteen enthusiastic students have joined the training which was focused on the use of High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) for measuring hormones, vitamins, and other compounds.

The Faculty of Arts and design, in partnership with the holding company for tourism and hotels, launched a competition to revive the commercial identity of the company "sednawi and the sale of manufactures" through rebranding and designing facades to increase its competitiveness in the Egyptian markets and launch global horizons by submitting design proposals to renew its visual identity based on its history and distinctive architectural aspect.
The participating teams consisted of students and faculty members from the Department of graphic and Media Arts in cooperation with the interior design department, and distinctive and innovative designs were presented during two stages of the qualifiers over the course of two months

Under the patronage of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, through the Central Administration for Civil Education and under the backing of the General Administration for Rehabilitation of Youth Cadres and the General Administration of the Information Office, organized the launch ceremony of the “Al-Ahed” competition.
This competition comes in implementation of the recommendations of the activities of the Youth Media Leaders Forum, with the aim of linking youth with the stories of the heroes of the homeland from the armed forces, and increasing belonging to the homeland by highlighting the stories of these heroes and the injured.

As part of the strategy of October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) for digital transformation and artificial intelligence, the Faculty of Mass Communication hosted the journalist Mr. Khaled Ammar, the founder of the Virtual Media Project and consultant to the International Journalists Network in Washington.
Mr. Khales Ammar gave a seminar titled ‘Metaverse: A New Era in Journalism’, and it marks as the second event in an informative series titled "Metaverse: A New Era in Mass Media." This seminar covered topics related to the use of artificial intelligence in newsrooms, blockchain, NFTs, and the utilization of Metaverse technology in the film and cinema industry. Moreover, it was divided into two sections. The first section included theoretical explanations and video presentations of virtual studios while the second section focused on practical aspects, where several faculty members and assistants experienced the use of virtual reality glasses.

The Holistic approach in physical therapy role in Oncology unit Symposium
Within the framework of activating the cooperation protocol with Baheya organization for early detection and treatment of breast cancer for women, the Faculty of Physical therapy, MSA University was represented by the invitation of Prof. Dr. Olfat Diab, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Therapy, to participate in the Second Onco-physio symposium entitled "Holistic approach in physical therapy role in Oncology unit" to discuss the latest methods and techniques in management and treatment for cancer patients, which was on August 17, 2023, at the Triumph Luxury Hotel, Fifth Settlement.

The faculty of engineering graduation projects exhibition
The Faculty of Engineering at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) held a remarkable exhibition on Wednesday 26th of July, 2023 under the patronage of Dr. Nawal El Degwi, the Head of MSA University's Board of Trustees, and Prof. Khairy Abdel Hamid, the President of MSA University.
The exhibition showcased graduation projects from the Faculty departments such as Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Communication Engineering and architectural engineering. The architectural engineering projects addressed the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic with the design of a health-oriented building. However, the other departments’ projects featured which all incorporated artificial intelligence as a language integrated with industry in its practical applications with leading industrial companies. In addition, the projects encompassed diverse fields and applications, including clean and renewable energies like wind and solar power.

Elezaby Pharmcies were thrilled to have had the opportunity to participate in the first job fair at MSA University's Faculty of Pharmacy, in order to support the training and employment of graduates. As a result, they were able to meet 150 graduates and accepted nearly 70 of them for training and employment opportunities in 2023.

The Faculty of Pharmacy, October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA), witnessed the activities of the closing ceremony to discuss graduation projects for undergraduate students, which is one of the essential requirements for graduation, in the presence of representatives of the University of Greenwich, the British partner of the faculty of pharmacy, and a group of presidents, deans, and faculty members of faculties of pharmacy from various public universities and representatives of the pharmaceutical industry in Egypt. This year, coinciding with the closing ceremony of the graduation projects and in order to activate the cooperation protocols conducted by the Faculty of Pharmacy, an employment fair was organized in the presence of respectable pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, and pharmacies, where they presented their products and provided job opportunities for students as well as opportunities for summer training in various fields.

Conversion to Scenario Based MCQS: A step wise approach
The Faculty of Dentistry at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) hosted an important full day workshop in collaboration with the Supreme Council of the Egyptian University, Dentistry Sector and the German Academic Exchange Services titled 'Conversion to Scenario Based MCQS: A step wise approach'.
The workshop consisted of lectures that helps in conducting a successful licensing exam, the construction of scenario based MCQs and item analysis as well as construction of question banks in preparation for the dentistry licensing exam.

Over 30 research institutes across the country hosted 222 Individual graduation projects including MSA University, the Faculty of Biotechnology (RDI Team), the Biotechnology MSA Research Lab, Nawah Labs, Cairo University- Cell and Tissue Laboratory, National Center for Radiation Research & Technology Atomic Energy Authority, and Ministry of Defense’s Military Labs for Veterinary medicine.

The Advertising and PR department celebrated the graduation projects of its students in the Grad 1 course. The students presented their innovative campaigns that achieve sustainable development goals. The projects included designing the first innovative platform in the Middle East for media and creative solutions, promoting green cosmetic products that protect against cancer, a campaign on stuttering and speech disorders, a campaign to rebrand the Egyptian Opera House as a gateway to inclusive arts for people with disabilities, and finally, a health campaign about the importance of using sunscreen for a healthy life.
The conclusion of Hackathon Day
MSA University and the Faculty of Computer Science are thrilled to celebrate the conclusion of the exhilarating "Hackathon Day" challenge and would love to congratulate all the students who participated in this huge event.
20 teams from the faculty of CS competed together for more than 24 hours while 12 teams stood for the final deadline and presented their work to a jury of 38 CS staff members and market experts divided on 3 committees judging the projects presented. And finally, the Jury selected five winners from the Hackathon.
The Annual Furniture Design and Execution Exhibition
Creativity and innovation of the students from the Faculty of Arts and Design at MSA University were showcased in the opening of the annual Furniture Design and Execution Exhibition.
A group of 40 students from the Faculty worked together in the "Furniture Design and Execution" course, focusing on designing and creating furniture pieces inspired by various sources and modern schools such as Bauhaus and Mondrian. By the end of the course, the students became capable of designing functional and aesthetically pleasing furniture pieces. They learned to identify suitable materials for each design, distinguish between them, and explore different manufacturing techniques and assembly methods in the furniture industry.

The Graphics and Media Arts students achieved another milestone by pushing the boundaries of new media art in their "Transitions" exhibition. “Transitions” is a Contemporary Media Exhibition, organized by Dr. Omnia Salah and her team of assistants, TA. AbdelAziz Elwassify and TA. Rana Osama. In addition, the exhibition is held under the supervision of Prof Dr. Tarek Saleh, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design, And Prof Dr. Eman Osama the Head of Graphics and Media Arts department.
The "Transitions" new media art exhibition surpassed all expectations, captivating visitors and leaving a lasting impression on their minds. The innovative ideas and cutting-edge technologies showcased in the exhibition left people awestruck and inspired. The interactive installations, virtual reality experiences, Video art, Conceptual Photography, and creative coding projects immersed viewers in a world where art and technology seamlessly merged.

The Learning and Development Department at MSA University has signed a cooperation agreement with the General Authority for Adult Education as part of the "Illiteracy-Free University" initiative, aimed at promoting education and knowledge among all segments of society. The Department of Biochemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy invited Dr. Shady Shahin, a graduate of the Faculty of Pharmacy at MSA University in 2018, to deliver two lectures entitled "Sports Nutrition" for the Clinical Nutrition-PB412 course, in the presence of all the students of the course. This initiative aims to benefit from the experiences of outstanding graduates in guiding the students of the faculty towards the correct career path and as a form of professional guidance for students in the field of sports nutrition.
