Creativity and innovation of the students from the Faculty of Arts and Design at MSA University were showcased in the opening of the annual Furniture Design and Execution Exhibition.
A group of 40 students from the Faculty worked together in the "Furniture Design and Execution" course, focusing on designing and creating furniture pieces inspired by various sources and modern schools such as Bauhaus and Mondrian. By the end of the course, the students became capable of designing functional and aesthetically pleasing furniture pieces. They learned to identify suitable materials for each design, distinguish between them, and explore different manufacturing techniques and assembly methods in the furniture industry.
In line with the collaboration protocol between the university and major factories and companies in the furniture industry in Egypt, several prominent factories contributed to the execution phase, bringing the students' designs to life. Among them were Nadim Factory and Ideal House Company.
The designs and executed pieces were supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Hoda Madkour, A.L. Yomna Hamdy, and A.L. Fatma Zakaria, with the presence of Dr. Ola Hashim, who praised the quality of the products and the uniqueness of the designs.
