The festival was held in Al-Fayoum Governorate on September 21st and 22nd, 2023, with the support of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Local Development, Al-Fayoum Governorate, the Export Council for Agricultural Products, the Export Council for Food Industries, the Chamber of Food Industries, the Industry Renewal Center, the Food Industries Technology Center, the Agricultural Exports Development and Enhancement Association, and Concept Company.
Honoured Students:
- Dina Walid Ibrahim Gamal El-Din was awarded for her design of special packaging for high-quality Egyptian olive oil, using ancient Pharaonic illustrations found on the walls of temples to showcase the quality of Egyptian olive oil production throughout history.
- Noran Yahia Ibrahim Rashid Al-Hawari was awarded for her design of special packaging for Egyptian hibiscus, incorporating patterns and drawings belonging to Egyptian Nubian art, reflecting the quality of Egyptian hibiscus, which is cultivated in Samar and is renowned in Aswan and Upper Egypt.
The winning designs stood out for their focus on highlighting the Egyptian identity in the designs, contributing to the creation of a unique identity for Egyptian exports, easily recognizable through the decorations, drawings, and colours associated with the rich and diverse Egyptian artistic heritage, with its historical and human dimensions.
These winning designs are the educational outcomes of the Packaging Design course for the academic year 2022-2023, supervised by Dr. Ahmed Atteya and the team composed of AL. Nashwa Mahmoud, LA. Nesreen Heikal, Rawan Abdelgalil, LA. Ahmed Ayman, and LA. Marwa Khamees.
