Students of the Faculty of Physical Therapy participated in the second International Student Conference for Scientific Research entitled "Innovation and Scientific Research: New Horizons for a Better Future (Generation Z)"

The conference aimed to promote the dissemination of a culture of entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence, innovation, and scientific research among first-year university students, with a primary focus on applications of artificial intelligence related to health, particularly in analyzing the relationship between preventive or therapeutic methods and patient outcomes.

Discussions also covered how artificial intelligence programs aid in the diagnostic process, contribute to improving treatment plans, develop physical therapy, monitor and care for patients, and are utilized in personalized medicine. The conference took place on Monday, March 4, 2024, at Cairo University's conference center, under the auspices of Dr. Mohamed Othman El-Khashab, President of Cairo University, with the attendance of several students from different academic levels within the faculty.

In light of the activation of cooperation protocols, the Faculty of Physical Therapy at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University), in cooperation with the Sky Life Foundation for Health and Fitness, organized an extraordinary workshop entitled 'Principles of Biofeedback training: Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation appliance'

Prof. Dr. Olfat Diab, Dean of the Faculty, participated in the opening ceremony of the conference and as chair of a scientific session. Adding to the significance, our students presented cutting-edge research on evaluation and assessment, earning advanced ranks among Egyptian universities.

The Faculty of Physical therapy held a condensed training for the exclusive Mettler Traction Decompression that provides cervical & lumbar traction by exerting therapeutic pulling forces on the patient’s body with enhanced reliability and ease of use.

The MTD traction system offers static ,intermittent and cyclic traction with user definable hold,rest and treatment times.Reviews of recent popular medical literature revealed that the clinical results of Spinal Decompression Therapy have been effective in over 75% of the people receiving this treatment and most patients find long-term relief and effective management of their pain upon completion of the entire program of treatments.

In line with our commitment to sustainable development and enhancing healthcare quality, the Faculty of Physical Therapy at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) participated in the third international conference hosted by Misr University for Science and Technology's Faculty of Physical Therapy titled ‘Greening the Road to Rehabilitation,'

This conference featured prominent faculty members, including Professor Dr. Olfat Diab, who delivered a compelling lecture on 'Integrating Ergonomics in Physical Therapy’ as the conference focused on healthcare quality and the pivotal role of sustainability in education.

Her Excellency was presented at first by Prof.Dr.Amira Al Tohamy , the Head of the Physical Therapy Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities & Prof. Dr Olfat was also honored as a representative of MSA University and for presenting the actual steps taken by MSA University to implement the sustainable development goals in the medical sectors and in all other fields of education.

In alignment with the esteemed Egyptian Health Council's (EHC) mission and vision, which were set in motion in March 2022, the Faculty of Pharmacy at MSA University is pleased to declare the commencement of Inter-Professional Education (IPE).

IPE stands as a pivotal pedagogical approach, meticulously crafted to equip health professions students with the expertise needed to deliver collaborative patient care. Our core objective is to elevate the standards of medical education and health training for all healthcare professionals, physicians, dentists, pharmacists, physiotherapists, and nurses.

The Faculty of Physical Therapy at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) held a workshop entitled "Shape your mind to shape your future "on Monday 30th of October presented by Dr.Noha Elkhouly The First Certified Egyptian RTT Therapist Rapid transformation Therapist UK, PhD of Dentistry Cairo University & Mr. Mohamed Shaker, Self Development Expert.

Students from the Faculty of Physical Therapy visited Al-Yasmine Elderly Home on the occasion of the International Day of Older People.

In collaboration with Lebaladna, faculty members, staff, and students from various academic levels at the faculty came together to deliver a special lecture on the importance of proper and healthy nutrition for the elderly, as well as the correct posture for the spine.

Additionally, they interacted with the residents and engaged in fun interactive activities.

Thanks to all who participated in this wonderful day and contributed to bringing joy and happiness to the ladies at Al-Yasmine Elderly Home. We are working together for a healthier and happier community.

The Community Service and Sustainable Development Committee at the faculty of Physical Therapy organized an awareness session under the title "The Dangers of Smoking and Addiction and Their Negative Effects on Individuals and Society" on Monday, October 2nd. The session featured the participation of Dr. Hisham Gomaa, a specialist in psychology and addiction treatment from the Addiction Control and Treatment Fund, and a certified psychotherapist approved by the Egyptian Ministry of Health, as well as Dr. Salah Ashour, the Director of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation in the Ministry of Interior's Medical Services Sector.

The session addressed the problems and consequences resulting from addiction in various aspects of life, emphasizing the role of the state in tackling them collaboratively with all segments of society and its institutions to raise awareness among citizens about the risks of addiction. It also highlighted the importance of assisting addicts in their recovery process by introducing them to addiction treatment centres that handle individuals with confidentiality and professionalism, targeting not only specific groups but all segments of society through visits, tours, and meetings.

The Faculty of Physical Therapy recently hosted an intensive workshop that was nothing short of exceptional

Titled "PT Role for Spinal Deformities, 3D Spine Analysis, and Treatment," this workshop was led by the esteemed Dr. El Sayed Ali Abdo Mohammed, an expert with an MSc from Cairo University and is certified in Schroth BSPTS & ISST and the Leon Method.

The workshop's primary focus was to dive deep into three crucial areas which are 3-dimensional Self-Correction, Training Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and Stabilization of Corrected Posture. Moreover, it was remarkable with the active participation of our dedicated faculty members, ensuring that it was a hands-on learning experience that participants won't soon forget.

Within the framework of activating the cooperation protocol with Baheya organization for early detection and treatment of breast cancer for women, the Faculty of Physical therapy, MSA University was represented by the invitation of Prof. Dr. Olfat Diab, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Therapy, to participate in the Second Onco-physio symposium entitled "Holistic approach in physical therapy role in Oncology unit" to discuss the latest methods and techniques in management and treatment for cancer patients, which was on August 17, 2023, at the Triumph Luxury Hotel, Fifth Settlement.

The Faculty of Physical Therapy at MSA University participated in the second student conference of the Faculty of Physical Therapy at Beni-Suef University. The conference was a student research conference with the participation of private and government faculties of physical therapy. Students presented medical case studies, including "Knee Osteoarthritis Case Management" by Mohammed Ibrahim and "Role of Physical Therapy in Plantar Fasciitis" by Rahma Ragab.

As a celebration of World Health Day,

The Faculty of Physical Therapy at MSA University, in collaboration with Lebaladna Foundation for Community Development, visited an orphanage for girls and conducted a workshop entitled "Proper Ergonomics and Health Tips". Practical training was given on adopting correct postures to reduce the chances of spinal injuries. There were also joint activities between faculty members and the Lebaladna team with the girls at the orphanage. Additionally, necessary guidance was provided to maintain overall health and proper body mechanics to avoid future deformities caused by incorrect body postures.

The Faculty of Physical Therapy at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) organized a huge scientific day under the title “Resilience in Physical therapy for Orthopedics” on Sunday 19th of March, 2023.

Lecturer BS.c. in Physical Therapy, Certified MSK US Faculty of Medicine Ain Shams University and Certified neuromuscular and spine US BACME at Deraya University.

Within the framework of MSA university’s plan to develop and improve the skills of faculty members and the teaching assistants, the Faculty of Physical therapy, in cooperation with the Training and Development Department at the university, organized a training course approved by the Egyptian Red Crescent under the title “Basic Life Support and First Aids” for 3 consecutive days with a number of hours approved by the Foundation.

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Nawal El-Degwi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Prof. Dr. Khairy Abdel-Hamid, President of the University, The Faculty of Physical therapy, October University for Modern Sciences and Arts, hosted the workshop for the Physical therapy Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities honoring all deans of faculties of physical therapy in Egypt entitled “Strategic Vision for the Future of Physical therapy” where topics related to the specialization of physical therapy and strategic planning of the sector committee of the Supreme Council of Universities , academic standards were discussed.

Within the framework of MSA University’s interest in achieving the goals of sustainable development, and as a continuation of the Cancer Awareness Week, the Faculty of Physical Therapy organized a fruitful scientific symposium to raise awareness of the importance of early detection of breast and cervical cancer presented by Prof. Dr. Azza Nasr, Professor of Radiation Therapy at the National Institute of Oncology and Chairman of the Scientific Research Committee of the National Council for Women.

Within the framework of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Environmental Development Committee at the Faculty of Physical Therapy organized a seminar entitled "Immunity and cancer prevention" given by Prof Dr. Gulsen Saleh, Head of Clinical Nutrition Department at 57357 Hospital and Professor of Public Health and Clinical Nutrition - NNIon.

Believing in the effective role of Staff members and teaching assistants in supporting and encouraging students, the Faculty of Physical Therapy at MSA University organized a workshop entitled "Study skills and time management for academic success", in order to inform the students about the importance of time management and developing educational skills to achieve academic and personal success.

The workshop was held and organized by Dr. Omnia Saeed, Lecturer of Physical Therapy for Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, and Dr. Athar Tarek, Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Physical Therapy for orthopaedic diseases and surgery, in cooperation with the Training and Activities Committee.

MSAains ran significant rounds on our beautiful campus for the great cause of World Diabetes Awareness Month!

In light of achieving the goals of sustainable development and raising awareness of healthy life and occupational safety and health and coinciding with the International Diabetes Awareness Month, the Faculty of Physical Therapy in cooperation with the sports and social activities department organized a huge Diabetes Prevention marathon to raise awareness of diabetes, the importance of changing lifestyles and of ways to avoid the severe health complications of diabetes in the future.

Within the framework of the cooperation between the Faculty of Physical Therapy at MSA University and Life Medical Consult, the Swiss expert Marco Burnik, an expert in the field of neural rehabilitation, visited MSA university in order to present updates in the field of neural rehabilitation using robotics.

In the context of encouraging scientific research, the Faculty of Physical therapy at MSA University participated in the Third International Conference of Physical therapy at MTI University, which took place on the 17th and the 18th of November, 2022.

It is an international student research conference with the participation of many countries. In addition, many public and private faculties of Physical Therapy were able to participate in this conference.

The faculty Physical therapy organized a scientific day to raise awareness of osteoporosis, coinciding with the International Day of Osteoporosis, in the presence of a number of staff members and the teaching assistants of the different faculties, and in the presence of a number of university students and some employees, in order to introduce the disease and ways to detect and diagnose it and focus on The role of physical therapy in treating osteoporosis which help to decrease disability and increase personal productivity and wellness in addition to improving quality of life in addition to focusing on postmenopausal woman's health and raising awareness of appropriate nutrition for this disease group and some important and basic tips to avoid complications

The Faculty of Physical therapy, October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) held a scientific day coinciding with the World Breastfeeding Week, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Nawal El-Degwi, Prof. Dr. Khairy Abdel Hamid, President of the University, and a number of faculty staff members, teaching assistants and University staff.

The Scientific day aimed to raise awareness of the importance of breastfeeding and achieves several goals of sustainable development and awareness of proper nutrition for women during pregnancy and lactation. In addition, it aimed to talk about some pregnancy and postpartum problems and the importance of supporting women in the breastfeeding stage, and the role of physical therapy in the health of Women before pregnancy, during pregnancy, and after childbirth.

The Faculty of Physical Therapy at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) signed a cooperation agreement with Scientific Cooperation Equipment Company (Scoope), Medical equipment supplier in Egypt.

The Faculty of Physical therapy, in cooperation with the Faculty of Computer Science, at MSA University held a workshop entitled “Computer Workstation Ergonomics” that dealt with the Academic staff members who use computers for extended periods of time and may experience discomfort or pain as a result of poor posture, improper adjustment or use of workstation components or other factors.

In addition, some guidelines on how to adjust their computer workstations were given in order to work safely and to be productive.

The Faculty of Physical therapy held their 1st Physical Therapy Students Conference.

The conference entitled "Towards A Better Healthy Life" will discussed the Students’ participation in research projects under the supervision of the faculty’s supporting staff members with the aim of a better healthy life.

The Faculty of Physical Therapy organized a workshop about Electromyography (EMG) and Nerve conduction velocity (NCV) studies which are considered the most reliable diagnostic procedures to assess the health of muscles and their nerve supply besides practical training of staff members on different EMG procedures & NCV measurements.

In completion of the training steps at the Faculty of Physical therapy at MSA University to enhance and develop the skills of faculty staff members and teaching assistants, a training workshop was held in the faculty on Wednesday 13th of April, 2022.

In a related context, with the start of the study at the Faculty of Physical therapy MSA University, all medical laboratories of the faculty were operated, including anatomy lab and museum, biochemistry lab, histology lab, which includes the latest types of electronic microscopes, physiology lab and finally the biophysics lab, and these labs are mainly used for students for practical training for basic medical sciences

In light of the development of Staff members skills at the University - The Faculty of Physiotherapy at MSA University conducted a two-days workshop entitled "Standards of Assessment in Medical Education".

Within the framework of preparing a distinguished work team at the Faculty of Physical therapy at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts, and in the light of supporting facilities for teaching and learning within the capabilities of the faculty and training on the use of technology in treatment, the second training was conducted live in the outpatient clinic showing and applying on the therapeutic laser devices whether scanner type, probe and pointer for different cases and according to each pathological condition.

Within the framework of preparing staff members at the faculty of physical therapy at October University for Modern Science and Arts on Tuesday 22 of February at 9:30 a.m. that had the title of “Practical prospects of electrotherapy and principles of application”, in light of supporting faculty for teaching and learning within the capabilities of the faculty and training on the use of technology in treatment, the first training was conducted for 4 hours about the use of electrotherapy lab facilities: Therapeutic Laser devices, Ultrasound and Magnetic therapy device that were applied on the patients.

He started his visit with a few minutes meeting with the University president Prof. Khairy Abdel Hameed, talking about the university vision, and collaboration with British universities, spirit and achievements at MSA.

On 12/01/2022, a Sector Committee visit from a tripartite committee formed by the Supreme Council of Universities headed by the head of the Physiotherapy Studies Sector Committee, Prof. Dr. Amira Tohamy, and its members: Prof. Dr. Jihan El Miniawy, Dean of the Faculty of Physiotherapy - Cairo University and Prof. Dr. Walid Talaat, Dean of the Faculty of Physiotherapy, Benha University, to examine and inspect the material and human capabilities and laboratories. The recommendation was to agree to the sufficiency of the capabilities.
