The Faculty of Mass Communication at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) organized one of the most important symposiums this year that took place on Monday 15th of November, 2021 on MSA Campus grounds at the student service building (SSB).

The successes of the graduation projects of the students of the Faculty of Mass Communication at MSA University is an ongoing success which brings us to winning the second prize for the project "خطواتك " and the third place in the documentary films category in the movie -الحصن" the Bulwark” directed by the student Islam Soliman at the Sixth Creativity Festival at El-Shorouk Academy.

MSA University participates with the project "Your space, your place" in the ( كويكب مصر ) initiative launched by the Egyptian Space Agency (EgSA) in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports. “كويكب مصر" is a competition among faculties of mass communication in different universities, and they compete through creating a marketing campaign, advertising campaign, or a documentary film aiming to raise awareness about space science and EgSA.

MSA University would like to extend its heartiest congratulations for the students of the Journalism department at the Faculty of Mass Communication for successfully discussing their graduation projects. Our students managed to execute two outstanding magazines; the first entitled ‘ABLAZE’, which is a magazine that aims to be a fresh alternative to typical women’s magazines, represents women who are overlooked in mainstream media and be part of the changing narrative of the feminism in Egypt. This project mainly serves the fifth goal of SDGs which focuses on achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls.

The Faculty of Mass Communication congratulates Advertising and Public Relations students for their Graduation Projects that tackled some of the most important issues in the Egyptian society. Significant topics that discussed cultural, psychological, environmental as well as economic matters are discussed this week at MSA Campus. MCOM students have suggested enlightened solutions and recommendations to contribute to their communities and country.

The topics also serve the agenda for Sustainable Development for peace and prosperity for people and the environment. The projects address more than 7 out of the 17 Goals of Sustainable Development that call for action to responsible consumption and well being and to end exclusion and poverty. The students have impressively recognized these problems and created campaigns strategies to raise awareness and change behavior towards improving health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth.

MSA University would love to congratulate Omar El Hassan a graduate of the Faculty of Mass Communications Class of 2019 for participating in the writing and for being in the representation team of the "Five-Star" Program on MBC Egypt that will be broadcasted next Ramadan. Omar El Hassan began his artistic career in the field of comedic stand in 2014 and as a presenter in Radio Fi Ma'ak, which is considered the most popular online radio program.

Miral Mahilian, A broadcasting student at the Faculty of Mass Communication at MSA University who had a major leading role and a prominent activity in the global ceremony “The Golden parade” that was held on the 3rd of April, 2021 as 22 royal mummies were paraded through the streets of Downtown Cairo.

Within the framework of the implementation of the university's plan and vision for linking the curriculum and theoretical sciences to the practical reality, the Summer Training Committee at the University, MSA-STC organized a field visit for the students of the Faculty of Mass Communication for Al-Nahar networks and channels in Egyptian Media Production City

In accordance to MSA’s sincere efforts in fostering support and reinforcement among its freshmen students, the faculty of Mass Communication organized a field trip to the Citadel and Faiths Compound on Saturday, October 12, 2019. Two groups of students comprising fifty-six joined the field trip to experience the historical sites live. The students were escorted by Dr. Hala El Zahed, family leader and their instructor; Dr. Maha El Tarabishi, acting vice dean; Dr. Nihal El Shimy, political science & psychology instructor at MSA along with TA & family leader Ms. Farida El Hakim.

MSA’s Mass Communication faculty launches its first step for media reformation In light of MSA’s “Year of Change”, the faculty of Mass Communication held its first step towards presenting new approaches to media education through the “New Trends in media Education” Seminar.
 

MSA is leading a new initiative to serve the Egyptian community ! After analyzing the needs in the health sector for professional communication skills, the faculty of Mass Communication under the leadership of its Dean, Dr. Ibtessam ElGindi, conducted a training to the nurses of Wadi El-Neel hospital to enhance their communication skills as well as their interaction with patients. .
 

After a very successful week of hard work, Spring 2019 Bedforshire visit to the Faculty of Mass Communication was very fruitful. Bedfordshire delegation moderated all 400- level Students' submissions in terms of coursework, midterm and final exams The visit also included two staff development sessions to Mass Communication; in addition to a post graduate session with students.

The faculty of Mass Communication congratulates MSA alumni Hossam Khalid Galal of 2017 on the success of the movie "The Guest" in which he worked as the assistant director. The film is directed by Hadi Albaguri and starring some of the top stars including Khaled El Sawy, Shirine Reda, Ahmed Malik, and Jameela Awad and is written by journalist Ibrahim Issa. Mr. Galal is preparing for a new project with the same director and starring superstar Mohamed Ramadan.

Within the framework of supporting prosperous interactions between The Faculty of Mass Communication’s students on one hand and supporting the Egyptian intellectual and literary achievements on the other hand, a cultural reception was held on Monday, the 30th of April 2018 at the Faculty of Mass Communication’s hall beneath the headline: “The Power of Youth to Prosper Egypt’s Future”, in honor of Dr. Lamis Gaber accompanied by the faculty’s Teaching Board and numerous esteemed students.

The students attended a marketing lecture by the the external communication director Ms Passant Fouad. She talked about how Juhayna is handling competition in the egyptian market and in the foreign one. Also, she talked about some statistics related to the brand loyalty for some international brands in Egypt.

Abdelrahman Hagag has been awarded second place in Al-Shrouk Third Creative Festival that was held from the 11th of March to the 14th of March at the Cairo Opera House.

MSA-STC has successfully organized this week four field trips to MSA University students in many fields in order to improve students' practical experience. TA. Mai Magdy with 14 students from the Faculty of Mass communication organized a visit to the live studios of Dream Tv station and take a tour in the station to know practically the departments of the station and the operations of broadcasting.

Faculty of Mass Communication at MSA in cooperation with ONAIR studios offered Mass Com. students a workshop entitled “News Production” by the famous presenter Amr el Kahky. Amr El kahky has 30 years of experience in journalism and broadcasting fields and is now a well known presenter at Al Nahar channel.

Pride and Glory at MSA’s 17th Class Graduation Ceremony. Modern Science and Arts University's graduation ceremony on the 3rd and 4th of October, 2017 combined glare and glory as graduates will be receiving a Greenwich or Bedfordshire degree, alongside the Egyptian one. More than 30 scholarships were awarded for students of Greenwich programme for higher education including: Master degrees and PhD; alongside acceptance letter in their masters programs and partial scholarships. MSA Graduates had undoubtedly taken a leap and had an edge over their peers' counterparts.

MSA has proudly organized "Arab Innovation Media Festival" with valuable participation from seven Arab countries and 9 universities: Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (King Saud University), United Arab Emirates (AUS), Lebanon (Beirut Arab University), Tunisia (Tunis University), Jordan (Yarmuk University), Bahrain (Bahrain University) and Egypt who was represented by MSA, Cairo University, and the American University in Cairo, along with many officials, celebrities, and media professionals from all over the Arab world.

MSA Mass Com Students organized a day to honor the workers and drivers of MSA at all levels to make them happy and appreciate the efforts they exerted to make the campus beautiful, neat and tidy and very well organized. Dr Sherine Sabry who was in charge of this eventstated that the main purpose here was to encourage students to servethe community which makes people happy and feel appreciated for what they're doing.

The International Society of Public Relations Signs a Protocol with Faculty of MassCom. The Role of Public Relations to Promote MSA Among Internal and External Students.

These meaningful words were the beginning of Mohamed Sobhi the famous actor in his speech which her delivered at the meeting hosted by Professor/ Dr Nawal El Degwi, MSA Head of the Board of Trustees to announce the initiative taken by the actor to contribute to the social and humanitarian projects carried out by “Lebaladna Social Foundation”.

MSA Sports and Social Administration headed by Dr Salah Abdel Hady and in collaboration of the Students’ Union, organised a trip to Luxor and Aswan where 43 MSA students participated. The trip activities programme included visits of several attractive sites and a variety of recreational input.

Modern Science and Arts University's graduation ceremony this year combined glare and glory as graduates will be receiving a Greenwich degree alongside the Egyptian one. MSA Graduates had undoubtedly taken a leap and had an edge over their peers' counterparts. MSAU graduates included Faculty of Dental & Oral Hygiene, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Biotechnology, Faculty of Management Sciences, Faculty of Mass Com, Faculty of Computer Sciences and Faculty of Languages. Thousand of parents witnessed the ceremony where Professor Dr Nawal El Degwi Head of Board of Trustees and Professor Dr Khairy Abdel Hamid MSAU President welcomed them, who in turn expressed their gratitude and commended the cherished care of their sons and daughters which prepared them to the challenge of the ever changing and demanding job market. Outstanding graduates received fifteen free scholarships to study Masters Degree in United Kingdom's Universities.

11 Years of continuous Success

In a grand and thrilling Newcomers Orientation celebration at MSA University’s Opera Hall, the Orientation day for new comers, Prof. Dr Nawal EL Degwi. Head of the Board of Trustees received MSA students who attended the UK Study Abroad Programme Summer 2014 in our collaborative partner University of Greenwich, to grant them their UK Study Abroad Programme Certificates & Best Achievers Trophies.

Students Exchange Programme through British Degree Validation From Greenwich University to MSA Graduates More than 70 students traveled this academic year 2013/2014 to University of Greenwich as part of our student exchange programme to attend workshops in various disciplines besides attending summer classes. That trip includes several visits to touristic attractions which are very famous in UK to be acquainted to the British cultural background and its customs and habits.

October University for Modern Sciences and Arts headed by the Board of Trustees Professor Dr Nawal El Degwi and accompanied by Professor Dr Khairy Abdel Hamid, MSA President and faculty members hosted the renowned actor Mohamed Sobhy as he attended the rehearsal of the most recent play by MSA students titled “Tell a Friend”, as they all pitched in to promote Egyptian Tourism by inviting all countries of the world to visit Egypt.

MSAMUN was given rebirth in 2011 to provide a platform for undergraduate students to develop their interpersonal, research, and communication skills. Since 2011 MSAMUN has organized four rounds of conferences and preparing for the 5th MSAMUN 2015 Conference. With each conference MSAMUN has witnessed various forms of growth and expansion for MSAMUN as an organization.

Sports and Social Department honoured the winning teams at the end of Sports Activities season by handing trophies and medals to the University's Tournament winners which lasted for almost three months, in participation of 40 Football teams besides other sports activities.

Sunday, November 17, 2013 marked the launch of Sharing Experience by the Faculty of Management Sciences; the programme is administrated by Engineer Ahmed El Essawy, Business Development Director at SPEED Group (P&G - Marai) Partner, Dr. Mohamed Khattab, General Manager of SIGMA Pharmaceutical Group and Engineer Amr Ghazaly, General Manager of Juhayna.

Wednesday, November 13, 2013 marked an important day for the scientific faculties as well as the literary faculties. We were honored to host Dr. Martin Bergfelder, the head of the Scientific Department at the German Embassy, to explore and deliberate the possible collaboration methods between MSA and Germany.

Once again, our Mass Communications graduation projects were judged by our affiliates and good friends from JWT Advertising, Yassmin Nader (Creative Director), Rami El Kerdani (Senior Art Director), Diana George (Account Manager), Kareem Farid (Planning Analyst), Lauren Wahed (Senior Social Media Editor), Hanan El Bialy (Talent Management). The judges were blown away by the presentations and stated that “JWT were very impressed with two of the MSA projects, the disability and handicrafts projects. We will be affiliated with these two awareness campaigns as part of our CSR initiative.”

The 6th successful "Training and Employment Fair" was held inOctober University for Modern Sciences and Arts for the sixth yearsuccessively. It attracted, as usual, a lot of renowned employers whoare seeking the cutting edge expertise of MSA and other Egyptiangraduates. Dr Nawal El Degwi, the Head of the Board of Trustees waspresent accompanied by Dr Khairy Abdel Hamid; President of MSA, andthey commended the efforts of the organizers of the event from CareerGates and MSA students.

The MSAMUN delegation representation at the conference was a smashing success and they returned home with a handful of awards for MSAMUN and the Modern Sciences & Arts University. There were more than 52 participating schools and universities and the competition was very high but the MSA delegation not only won the “Best Delegation" award, but also dominated the individual awards. Yousra Shawki was awarded “Best Delegate of the Economic & Social Council”. Sherif El-Ashiry received the “Best Delegate of the International Criminal Court” award. In association with "Life without Smoking" Society, MSA launched one of its most effective campaigns yet in the guiding and changing of harmful habits, specially smoking. As they were keen and enthusiastic to learn, 600 students attended the event and quite a few quit smoking as a result. The campaign ran for three days consecutively in order to encourage more willing students to participate, after which 17 of them, actually stopped smoking and pledged to help their colleagues quit this self-destructive habit.

MSA University congratulates all students who won First Place Cup in "The Fifth Championship" successively, of the Sixth Sector which took place on The Olympic Stadium in MSA. The championship included: Football (boys), Volleyball (boys and girls), Handball (boys), Basketball (boys and girls) and Table Tennis.

MSA Mass Com students interacted with the community in a superb way as they invited and hosted a lot of orphans from October 6 hostels to fulfill their social commitment and make the deprived children as happy as they can.

Out of deep sense of corporate social responsibility and MSA mission to engage our students actively in their community, Lebaladna Social Foundation adopted giving generously considerable amounts of convenience donations. Having this concept in heart and mind, the Foundation visited yesterday Saturday, February 9, 2013 Al Asfar Village in Fayoum Governorate to distribute 500 blankets wrapped with warm affection to the needy and less fortunate villagers during these nights of freezing cold weather, besides renovating 18 houses in the same village.

Last Monday January 12, 2013, MSA organized one of the most successful events of Graduation projects presentations of Advertising and PR discipline. Panelists from J.W.T. Advertising agency, one of the strongest advertising agencies in Egypt were invited to judge the graduating students' projects of that major which were supervised by Dr.Sherine Moody.
