Biotechnology students in IceMan Factory

The industrial project students visited the ice-man industry. They were supervised with four teaching assistants which organized the visit very professionally, since we were divided into multiple groups to avoid any ciaos and avoid any disruptions to the workers since it is a busy industry and time is a major factor in affecting the production.

The biotechnology industrial projects students had the privilege of attending a lecture by Mr. Mohamed Hussien Essawy the operation manager of Metalab diagnostics laboratories, the purpose of the lecture was to help the students with finding ideas for their industrial project proposal and to provide them with more prospects about tests made in laboratories and how many machines can help them in identifying the presence of diseases or abnormalities in samples obtained from patients.

On the 7th of February 2016, The Faculty of Biotechnology held presentations for the 2015 graduating students’ projects. The event began with a Presentation from the Dean of the Faculty Prof. Ayman Diab, and a hosting from the course coordinator Dr. Gehan Safwat entailing the current achievements. Accomplishments this semester by the students included acquiring new venues such as the animal health research center, Suez canal University, El Demerdash hospital, the biotechnology lab, NRC, Kuwait medical genetics research center (KMGRC), and the Ansary lab.

The Faculty of Biotechnology has successfully signed a contract with the Agency for Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) highlighting a research grant that would put an Egyptian team of multidisciplinary scientists in work for 24 months to fight liver cancer with nanobiotechnology techniques.

Graduating students of the Faculty of Biotechnology always bring charm and pride to our campus! They have presented their projects, amazed the audience as well as the science community both nationally and internationally.
