This year MSA students of the faculties of Arts & Design, Languages, Management Sciences and Mass communication, were granted the opportunity to travel to MSA collaborative partner in the UK University of Bedfordshire as part of MSA summer Abroad Programme 2024 to study Data Analytics adapting Python, Content Creation TV and Radio as well as Business Analytics, the courses were delivered entirely by university of Bedfordshire Esteemed professors and staff whom commended the students performance and engagement in class.
They also had a wonderful opportunity to visit Britain cultural sites.

MSA University Celebrates the Institutional Accreditation of the Faculty of Languages by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE)
On Wednesday, May 22, 2024, MSA University celebrated the institutional accreditation of the Faculty of Languages by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education. Dr. Nawal El Degwi, Chairman of the University Board of Trustees, and Prof. Dr. Khairy Abdel Hamid, President of the University, honoured Prof. Dr. Soha Raafat, Dean of the Faculty, along with the faculty members, administrative staff, and supporting staff for achieving this significant milestone.
Dr. Nawal El-Degwi expressed her happiness and gratitude for the Faculty of Languages receiving institutional accreditation, highlighting it as a qualitative addition to the university and its faculties. Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Khairy Abdel Hamid emphasized that the accreditation of the Faculty of Languages results from excellent education, fruitful cooperation, and the evident dedication of every individual in the faculty.

The Faculty of Languages at October University for Modern Sciences & Arts was so thrilled to witness the discussion of the final projects of the 2nd year “Children’s Literature “ course.
It was a genuine chance to see hard work and creativity in action.
The students presented a variety of attractive picture books that they designed from scratch and that they have diligently and lovingly worked on them throughout the term.
The stories were not only original but also extensively diverse and echoing our Egyptian culture. A huge Hooray for our young budding talents!

A Session with Award-Winning Author Rania Hussein Amin
The Faculty of Languages wraps up another momentous event, with the distinguished guest, Rania Hussein Amin, the award-winning Egyptian book writer and illustrator. In this session and as a part of the course Young Adult Literature, Amin delved into her inspiration which she draws from her background as a psychologist and a school counsellor. She also attributed much of her creative inventory to being a mother and how her experience in reading to her daughter informed her writing for children and young adults.

In its efforts to increase students exposure to the marketplace, the Faculty of Languages at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) carried a field trip to Conrad Hotel for its senior students accompanied by the Faculty Dean, Professor Soha Raafat and Dr. Hend el Hady.
Through this career day, the students got introduced to the hotels' and hospitality industry, professional activities, departments and management style. Moreover, they were given valuable sessions about the employability in this sector, employees’ benefits, how to write a CV to apply as a fresh graduate, how to master interviews, and how effectively work in its different sections.
Additionally, the sessions included Q&As as well as a meet and greet between our students and MSA graduates who are currently members of the Conrad Hotel family.

Ai Implications on Academic Honesty

Within the framework of the partnership between MSA University and the University of Bedfordshire, The Faculty of Languages was pleased to welcome Dr. Abigail Gosling (the link tutor and Senior Lecturer in English Language Studies) and Julie Beams (Senior Lecturer) of the University of Bedfordshire who delivered a workshop about the implications and challenges of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in relation to academia and academic honesty.
The workshop focused on the idea of empowering students to use AI tools ethically, as this is crucial to increase their awareness, skills, and employability.
We thank Dr. Gosling and Ms. Beams for sharing their expertise and valuable insights on this topic. Their workshop has contributed to our ongoing efforts to provide a well-rounded education that prepares our students for the future.

New Era Of Artificial Intelligence In Language Learning
The Faculty of Languages was pleased to welcome Eng. Khaled Naguib, one of the most distinguished Engineering speakers of Fall 2022. Eng. Naguib was able to deliver a very relatable talk to our faculty, which is rooted in humanities and interdisciplinary.
The talk addressed historical roots of AI and the reason behind its blooming in 2010. In addition, he helped the audience to apply and play with AI during the session.
Furthermore, The attendees talked to "Iron Man", extracted verb phrases from The Black Cat, and wrote code on python, all in one session!

The Faculty of Languages at MSA University extends its most heartfelt congratulations to the Student Mariam Amr for her upcoming book, hoping it will be the first of many successful works of art.

Field trip to Rawabet Theatre
Because theatre promotes us to advocate for new and diverse perspectives, the Faculty of Languages organized a field trip to Rawabet Theatre, Down Town Cairo. Fourth year students of the Comparative Studies pathway were accompanied by Dr. Nagla El Hadidy, Vice Dean and Professor of Drama to attend the Danish play, “Cook” or “Tabakh”, which is part of the D-CAF’s, Contemporary Arts Festival 10th edition on the 9th of October . The show is co-created by Jasper Pederersen and Nassim Soleimanpour.

The Faculty of Languages - MSA University - was thrilled to host the Graduation Projects Discussion Ceremony held on June 28 & 29, 2022. The faculty was delighted to welcome our graduates with their families and friends who had a memorable day attending the Graduation Projects Presentations in the four pathways: Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), Executive Skills, Comparative Studies, and Translation. The presentations were delivered in front of four panels of distinguished External Examiners hosting prominent professors and distinguished figures in the field of education including: Prof. Nadia El Kholy, Professor of English Language & Literature at Cairo University and the former Cultural Counsellor at the Egyptian Embassy in London & the former Director of the National Council for Children’s Culture; Dr Sherif Eid, Professor of Strategic Management & Human Resources in a number of reputable international universities and Senior Executive & Professional Trainer in international organizations in the field of Training Solutions and Consultancy; Prof. Heba Araf, Professor of Literature and Translation at Cairo University; and Mr Andrew Bishara, professional expert of School Education & Head of the English Language Department in a reputable International school.
The External Examiners provided informed comments and praised the students’ exceptional communication skills. They particularly applauded the outstanding selection of the topics of the graduation projects which mostly explore the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in English Language Studies as well as the importance of enabling the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Launching of the Faculty of Languages Postgraduate Studies Programs
In an exceptionally inspirational and passionate event today, the Faculty of Languages- MSA University- celebrated the launching of its Postgraduate Studies Programs. The event was hosted and moderated by Professor Soha Raafat, Dean of the faculty who gave a wonderfully informative session on the new postgraduate programs offered: MA in English Language Studies (Translation/ Cultural Studies) and Postgraduate Professional Diploma in Teaching ( TLEL).
The programs start Fall 2022 and provide a platform for interested postgraduate students to expand their academic or professional careers within the excellence of the British standards of education offered at MSA.

Because Artificial Intelligence (AI) is now used as a powerful tool that enhances performance and innovation in education, the Faculty of Languages - at MSA University - hosted a poster Session for third-year TEFL students’ research papers.

Faculty of Languages Graduation Projects Day
Senior students of the Faculty of Languages, MSA University celebrated their “Graduation Projects Day” in the Students’ Services Building (SSB) on the 17th of January, 2018. The graduation projects of the students revolved around three different fields of study/ majors offered at the Faculty of Languages: Translation, Executive Skills, and Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL).

Pride and Glory at MSA’s 17th Class Graduation Ceremony. Modern Science and Arts University's graduation ceremony on the 3rd and 4th of October, 2017 combined glare and glory as graduates will be receiving a Greenwich or Bedfordshire degree, alongside the Egyptian one. More than 30 scholarships were awarded for students of Greenwich programme for higher education including: Master degrees and PhD; alongside acceptance letter in their masters programs and partial scholarships. MSA Graduates had undoubtedly taken a leap and had an edge over their peers' counterparts.

The faculty of languages at MSA university has had the great author Youssef Idris’s Al-Farafeer play on a special show by the faculty’s theatre club offered among the contributions of student activity clubs, aiming the enrichment of the students’ awareness and knowledge. And the students themselves did a brilliant and contemporary performance of the play by depicting the 1964 philosophy with a modern youthful spirit.
Annual Luxor-Aswan Trip 2015
MSA Sports and Social Administration headed by Dr Salah Abdel Hady and in collaboration of the Students’ Union, organised a trip to Luxor and Aswan where 43 MSA students participated. The trip activities programme included visits of several attractive sites and a variety of recreational input.

MSAU graduates included Faculty of Dental & Oral Hygiene, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Biotechnology, Faculty of Management Sciences, Faculty of Mass Com, Faculty of Computer Sciences and Faculty of Languages. Thousand of parents witnessed the ceremony where Professor Dr Nawal El Degwi Head of Board of Trustees and Professor Dr Khairy Abdel Hamid MSAU President welcomed them, who in turn expressed their gratitude and commended the cherished care of their sons and daughters which prepared them to the challenge of the ever changing and demanding job market. Outstanding graduates received fifteen free scholarships to study Masters Degree in United Kingdom's Universities.

During a ceremony that took place in the presence of Cairo University president and top management administration of both the university and the Faculty of Commerce, Ms. Mai Mamdouh proudly received her award on Thursday, December 4, 2014.
MSA Staff Awarded Best PhD Thesis
The best Thesis award of Cairo University was granted to MSA's Ghada Mohamed Ali Alakhdar of Faculty of Languages for her thesis titled: "Cyber Text Morality Online and the Promotion of Cultural Diversity". Under the supervision of Prof.Dr. Sahar Sobhi Abdel Hakim. The valuable and unique thesis was summed up in the 'Diversity of the World Cultures which have the potential for development through "reactivating solidarity networks and reinventing a lost mode of social interaction." The study in that respect picks up the rhizomes of war machine which present a free model for collective action and production, as it also analyses the nomad and its strategy of mobility and vigour communicated in its weaponry. Heartily congratulations to Ms Ghada M. Ali Akhdar for her achieved unique thesis which earned her the 'Best Theses Awards of Cairo University'.

Breast Cancer Awareness Event
The Faculty of Languages held a Breast Cancer Awareness Day on the 23rd October,2014 in celebration of the international breast cancer month. In the presence of Prof. Khayri Abdelhameed, MSA University president, and Prof. Soha Raafat, Faculty of Languages dean; Mrs Ghada Salah, a volunteering ex-patient, was invited to give a speech narrating her experience with this disease after two films were projected. During the event, a poster exhibition was held and awareness leaflets were distributed to the audience.

Last week, the faculty of languages hosted the prominent Dr. Sahar El Mougy to talk about “Looking for the Fairy or the magic wand? A few notes on man's search for happiness”. Sahar Elmougy is an Egyptian writer, assistant professor of American literature (Cairo University). She is also a columnist, creative writing trainer, storyteller and feminist activist. Up her sleeve, she has four books: two collections of short stories and two novels. Her two novels: Daria (1999) and Noon (2007), which won Arab and Mediterranean literary prizes, carved her a place on the Egyptian literary map. Her bestselling novel Noon helped confirm as one of the prominent authors in Egypt. Elmougy conducts a creative writing workshop named after Seshat (the ancient Egyptian goddess of writing).
