MSA University Partners with The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) to Shape the Cities of Tomorrow.

Under the patronage of Dr. Nawal El Degwi, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, and Prof. Dr. Nader El Bokle, President of MSA University, and in the presence of Dr. Engy Mansour, Vice Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, the Faculty of Engineering at MSA University signed a research collaboration agreement with the Society Hub of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) – HKUST(GZ), reflecting the University’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships and advancing research, innovation, and knowledge exchange.

The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the international symposium:

“Human-Centred Urban Intelligence: AI, Spatial Intelligence, and Future Cities”

Representing the HKUST(GZ) Society Hub were Prof. Yang Yue, Associate Dean of the Society Hub, and Prof. Ge Lin Kan, Head of the Urban Governance and Design (UGD) Thrust, along with several faculty members, including Dr. Rui Cao, whose research focuses on spatial intelligence and urban data analytics; Dr. Wufan Zhao, specializing in artificial intelligence and smart city applications; Dr. Rushi Dai, specializing in urban governance and sustainable planning; Dr. Xiaofeng Liu, whose work centers on digital twins and intelligent urban systems; and Dr. Muzhi Zhou, specializing in urban design and sustainable development.

The agreement was signed on behalf of MSA University’s Faculty of Engineering by Prof. Nahed Sobhy, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.

The event was also attended by several academic leaders and faculty members from MSA University, including Prof. Maysa Omar, Head of the Architectural Engineering Department; Prof. Mostafa Zaki, Head of the Mechatronics Engineering Department; Associate Prof. Samer Ibrahim, Head of the Computer Systems Engineering Department; Associate Prof. Nehal Amer; Dr. Tarek Galal, Chair of the Artificial Intelligence Committee; and Associate Prof. May Ebaid, Academic Coordinator of the collaboration agreement between the two institutions. The event was further attended by Prof. Ahmed Diaa El-Din, Head of the Communications Engineering Department; Associate Prof. Emad Helal, Head of the Civil Engineering Department; together with a distinguished group of researchers and faculty members from across the Faculty of Engineering.

The agreement aims to strengthen research collaboration, promote the exchange of researchers and students, and support joint projects that drive innovation and address societal challenges.

This collaboration supports Egypt Vision 2030 and reinforces MSA University’s commitment to advancing research, innovation, and international partnerships that contribute to building smart and sustainable communities.
