
MSA Students and Graduates Shine at the 10th Edition of Dr. Nawal El Degwi Creativity Competition
Students and graduates from October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) showcased remarkable literary talent during the 10th edition of the Dr. Nawal El Degwi Creativity Competition, held as part of the Annual University Book Fair organized by the Faculty of Mass Communication under the theme “From the Nile to the Yangtze.”
The competition celebrated creativity across multiple literary categories, highlighting exceptional achievements in both short story writing and poetry.
Short Story Competition
The Faculty of Pharmacy achieved remarkable success in the Short Story Competition, winning three awards:
First Place: Assoc. Prof. Samah Shaaban for the story “Life in the Year 2030”
Second Place: Aya Mohamed Badr for the story “A Piece of Bread”
Third Place: Alumnus Amr Ayman for the story “White Shroud”
Poetry Competition
First Place: Hoda Ghazy – Faculty of Mass Communication, and Haneen Soliman – Faculty of Pharmacy, for short poetry works
Second Place: Hossam Mahdy – Faculty of Mass Communication, for two colloquial poems
Third Place: Anas Refaat – Faculty of Computer Science.
The competitions were judged by a distinguished panel of leading literary figures and critics, including Prof. Dr. Morsi El Sayed Morsi El Sabbagh, Head of the Arabic Language Department and Rapporteur of the Folk Arts Committee at the Supreme Council of Culture, alongside the renowned poets Ahmed Sweilem and Mohamed Baghdady, in an atmosphere that celebrated literature, creativity, and intellectual expression.
