Paint It Right: SCIB Finishes & Specs for Interior Spaces
The Interior Design Department at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) organized an educational event in collaboration with SCIB Paints, aimed at introducing students to paint materials, color selection, and finishing techniques in interior design.
The event began with an informative lecture delivered by paint specialists, where students were introduced to different types of paints, finishes, color tones, and the main criteria for selecting suitable materials for interior spaces. The session also highlighted how paint choices can support both the functional and aesthetic aspects of design.
Following the lecture, a practical workshop was conducted in which students explored color mixing, layering, and surface application techniques using different tools and materials. This hands-on activity gave students the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge presented during the lecture and experiment directly with color combinations and finishes. At the end of the workshop, each student presented an individual painted board, and the day concluded with photographs and recognition of the guest speakers.
This event is part of the Interior Design Specifications, Quantities, Contracts, and Ethics (BOQ) course activities, under the supervision of course instructor Dr. Rasha El Shiaty and Dr. Sarah Noaman, the Head of Interior Design Department Prof. Dr. Amany Mashhour, In attendance of the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design Prof. Dr. Tarek Saleh.
