The event was centered on a key theme: bridging the gap between academic research and industrial application in cosmetology. It featured a distinguished lineup of speakers from academia and industry, offering diverse perspectives on the translation of phytochemical research into market-ready products.

Dr. Mohamed Salem, Research Scientist at the Bioactives Laboratory, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), delivered a highly insightful lecture titled *“From Ethnomedicine to Modern Cosmetology: Validating Botanical Anti-Aging Potential with High-Resolution Metabolomics.”* His talk highlighted advanced metabolomics approaches in validating the anti-aging potential of botanical extracts.

Prof. Dr. Hala Elhefnawy from Cairo University presented a compelling session on the anti-aging properties of *Opuntia* species, emphasizing their relevance in modern cosmetic formulations.

From the industrial perspective, MSA alumna Nariman Ali, R&D Senior Supervisor at EVA Cosmetics, delivered an outstanding presentation titled *“From Lab Bench to Production Line: Redefining Phyto in Modern Cosmetics,”* where she illustrated the pathway from laboratory research to large-scale production.

Entrepreneur Alaa Youssef, Founder and CEO of JEVAN Natural Products, shared her inspiring journey in a talk titled *“Strength-based Entrepreneurship in Green Beauty,”* highlighting her transition from academia to successful entrepreneurship in the natural products sector.

The marketing dimension was addressed by Dr. Aya Amr Mostafa, Marketing Associate at Parkville, who provided valuable insights into cosmetic marketing strategies and current market trends.

The event concluded with an inspiring presentation by Level 5 student Fatima Omira, titled *“Who’m I,”* where she shared her early career journey in natural cosmetics, driven by her passion for natural products and supported by the academic environment at MSA University.

The Scientific Day was attended by Pharmacognosy Department staff members and faculty colleagues, creating a vibrant academic atmosphere. The event provided significant value to students enrolled in phytochemistry and phytotherapy courses by exposing them to real-world applications and career pathways.

Overall, the event stood as a successful model of integrating education, research, and industry engagement, reinforcing the department’s commitment to advancing applied learning and innovation in natural product-based cosmetology.
