Jana Ibrahem and Fady Hany Participate in Future Fighters Against AMR 2026
The Faculty of Pharmacy at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) proudly recognizes Jana Ibrahem, Level 3, and Fady Hany, Level 5, for their participation in the second cohort of “Future Fighters Against AMR 2026: Fight the Fight… Use Antibiotics Right,” a five-day training programme held from 31 August to 4 September 2026.
The programme was organized through collaboration between ReAct Africa, the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and the World Health Organization (WHO) Egypt, bringing together expertise from leading national and international organizations working to address antimicrobial resistance.
Throughout the programme, participants strengthened their knowledge and awareness of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), one of the major global health challenges, while exploring its wider impact through the One Health approach, which considers the interconnected relationship between human, animal, and environmental health.
The training provided students with an opportunity to expand their understanding of the responsible use of antibiotics, the importance of antimicrobial stewardship, and the role of healthcare professionals in raising awareness and contributing to efforts aimed at limiting the spread of antimicrobial resistance.
The participation of Jana and Fady reflects the Faculty of Pharmacy’s continued commitment to encouraging students to engage in meaningful professional and educational initiatives that address pressing global health challenges and strengthen their readiness for future healthcare practice.
