The Faculty of Mass Communication at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) will host the first cultural event of its cultural salon for this academic year, entitled “Military Art in Ancient Egypt,” on the occasion of the glorious October Victories.
The session will feature Prof. Dr. Maged El-Damaty, former Minister of Antiquities and one of Egypt’s prominent Egyptologists, who will explore the history and legacy of ancient Egyptian military culture through archaeological evidence and historical documentation.
During the session, Prof. Dr. Maged El-Damaty will discuss various aspects of ancient Egyptian military life, including military strategies and tactics, weapons, the organization of the army and navy, intelligence and military operations, as well as the wars fought by ancient Egypt and their objectives.
The session will also highlight the role of ancient Egyptian military institutions in protecting the state throughout different historical periods, providing students with a deeper understanding of Egypt’s military heritage and its connection to national identity.
In addition, the discussion will explore the origins of a number of words and expressions that continue to be used in the language today, offering students a perspective on the connection between Egypt’s ancient history, language, and cultural heritage.
Through this cultural event, the Faculty of Mass Communication aims to enrich students’ historical and cultural awareness, strengthen their sense of national belonging, and provide an engaging opportunity to explore an important aspect of ancient Egyptian civilization.
