MSA Celebrates World Mental Health Day with Inspiring Campus-Wide Event
In alignment with World Mental Health Day, October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) hosted a comprehensive “Health Day”, a special event designed to raise awareness about mental well-being, promote preventive health practices, and foster a more compassionate and supportive university environment.
This initiative reflected the university’s commitment to integrating mental health awareness with physical wellness and sustainability efforts, creating a positive impact across the entire campus community.
The event brought together a wide network of internal and external partners to deliver high-quality health and wellness services:
Internal partners: Medical Administration, Faculty of Physical Therapy, and Faculty of Nutrition and Food Technology.
External partners: October Clinic, Al Waha Hospital, Al Borg Labs, Al Borg Scan, Clinica Egypt, Dar Al Oyoun Hospital, Neurospitalia Hospital, the Fund for Drug Control and Treatment of Addiction, Bofana, and Jamjoom Pharma.
With over 1,000 participants, including 500 students and 500 faculty and staff members, the event succeeded in creating an inclusive, interactive, and supportive environment.
Throughout the day, attendees benefited from a wide range of free medical consultations and wellness activities. Specialized clinics offered consultations in ENT, ophthalmology, orthopedics, internal medicine, gynecology, neurology, physical therapy, nutrition, and general health. In collaboration with medical partners, advanced diagnostic services were also provided — including blood tests, hearing screenings, ultrasounds, and X-rays — enabling early detection and encouraging preventive health practices across the campus community.
In addition, guided breathing and relaxation sessions, led by students and staff from the Faculty of Physical Therapy, offered participants a hands-on experience in stress management and emotional well-being. The Faculty of Nutrition and Food Technology also contributed interactive wellness activities that emphasized the connection between healthy lifestyles and mental resilience.
Beyond clinical services, the event launched one impactful initiative that highlighted the university’s holistic approach to mental health and environmental sustainability:
🌱 “Share Your Story & Plant a Tree”
Through this initiative, students and staff were invited to share personal stories or meaningful experiences via email, reflecting on resilience, growth, or hope. For every story received, the university committed to planting a tree, symbolizing personal and environmental growth. A total of 18 stories were submitted, and 18 trees will be planted as a lasting symbol of hope and collective strength.
MSA extended its heartfelt appreciation to all partners, students, faculty, and staff who contributed to the remarkable success of this event.
By combining education, medical support, and meaningful community initiatives, MSA continues to foster an environment where mental health is prioritized and everyone’s well-being matters.
