Hero from Our Nation Competition Winner

Under the patronage of Her Excellency, Dr. Nevine El-Qabbaj, the Ministry of Social Solidarity has announced the launch of the “Hero from Our Nation” competition as part of the celebrations for the October Victory. The competition includes three main categories: October War Films, Developmental Films, and Non-Governmental Organizations Films.

In a delightful surprise, Mirna Hossam, a Faculty of Mass Communication graduate, won first place in the Developmental Films category with her film “Soad’s Smile.”

A total of 55 films were selected for the October War Films competition, and over 100 films for the Developmental Films competition. The judging panel comprised seasoned writers and critics, including the writer and screenwriter Atef Beshai, the art critic Magda Maurice, Thanaa Hashem, a professor at the Cinema Institute, and the journalist Fatma Shaarawy. Together, they played a crucial role in selecting outstanding works and awarding prizes to exceptional talents.
