Prof. Ahmed Aref obtained his Ph.D in Cell and Molecular Biology from Ain-Shams University in 2008, his thesis has focused on p53 gene expression in liver cancer patients. He did his post-doctoral training in the cancer immunology lab at VA hospital Long Beach California, USA, which focused on the identification of new tumor associated antigens expressed in hepatocellular carcinoma which may help in immunotherapy of liver cancer patients. He joined MSA University in 2008 as a lecturer of Cell Biology and Genetics in school of dentistry and he is now a professor at the faculty of Biotechnology. He have good experience in research, with over 30 international publications. Co-authored a book chapter which focused on glioma biology. He have got a grant in 2013 which was funded from Egyptian science and technology development fund (STDF), in collaboration with National liver institute and faculty of medicine Ain shams University. This follow up study has validated markers to predict recurrence after surgical resection of hepatocellular carcinoma. |
