MSA Physical Therapy Students Raise Awareness on Menopause

In celebration of World Menopause Day, students from the Women’s Health Unit at the Faculty of Physical Therapy, MSA organized an awareness event aimed at promoting women’s health and raising community awareness about menopause.

The event focused on educating women about the physiological and health changes associated with menopause, addressing common misconceptions, and emphasizing that menopause is a natural stage of life that requires awareness, support, and attention to both physical and psychological well-being.

The awareness activities highlighted the importance of regular physical activity, muscle-strengthening and balance exercises, healthy nutrition, and maintaining bone health and preventing osteoporosis. The students also highlighted the role of physical therapy in managing some health concerns associated with menopause, improving functional ability, maintaining muscle strength and balance, and supporting women’s overall quality of life.

The event also emphasized the importance of preventive healthcare and healthy lifestyle choices during menopause, helping women make informed decisions about their health and well-being.

Through their active participation, the students demonstrated their commitment to community service and health promotion, while developing their communication and health education skills and applying their academic knowledge in a real community setting.

This initiative reflects the Faculty of Physical Therapy’s ongoing commitment to promoting health awareness, empowering women through health education, and preparing future physical therapists to contribute to community well-being and improved quality of life.
