Faculty of Mass Communication at MSA University Hosts International Seminar on Media Education

The Faculty of Mass Communication at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) hosted an international specialized seminar on “Media Education” at the Student Services Building (SSB), on the sidelines of the BEFMA (BRICS Educational Film and Media Association) conference, within the framework of the academic partnership between MSA University and the “Awladna” Foundation for Arts of Persons with Special Needs.
The seminar witnessed the participation of delegations and experts from 8 countries, including China, Russia, Singapore, and Serbia, creating a platform for international dialogue and the exchange of academic and professional experiences in the fields of media, education, and communication.
The event was attended by Dr. Engy Mansour, General Director of Human Resources and Vice Chairman of MSA University’s Board of Trustees, and Prof. Dr. Amani Fahmy, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication.
Held following the new students’ welcoming activities for the academic year 2026-2027, the seminar featured discussions and knowledge exchange on several topics related to the future of media education, the role of different media platforms in supporting the educational process, and their contribution to building awareness.
The seminar addressed several key themes, including the role of films and visual content in education, sustainability in media, media education concepts, media ethics, and professional responsibility.
Discussions also highlighted the importance of utilizing media, arts, and visual platforms as educational and cultural tools that contribute to enhancing awareness and critical thinking, while creating new opportunities for communication and cultural exchange among different communities.
The seminar concluded by emphasizing the importance of continued dialogue and knowledge exchange between academic and professional institutions in Egypt and participating countries, opening new opportunities for collaboration in the fields of media education, filmmaking, sustainable media, and professional ethics.
Through this event, the Faculty of Mass Communication at MSA University continues to support international cooperation, interdisciplinary dialogue, and the development of modern approaches to media education that contribute to a more inclusive and connected society.
