Bridges of Empowerment Together Beyond Disability

October University for Modern Sciences and Arts organized the second edition of the hybrid international event “Bridges of Empowerment: Together Beyond Disability”, as part of the University’s annual Disability Awareness Week under the patronage of Professor Dr. Olfat Diab, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Therapy, and in the presence of Professor Dr. Nader El-Bokl, the University President, during the opening ceremony.

The event was attended by university students and faculty members, and brought together athletes with disabilities, advocates and experts from Egypt, Bahrain, Palestine and Libya and brought together students, faculty members, para-athletes, advocates, and experts from Egypt, Bahrain, Palestine, and Libya.

As part of the celebration, the event featured a special recognition ceremony honoring MSA University employees with disabilities, acknowledging their dedication and contributions throughout the year.

Additionally, the day included a series of adaptive sports activities under the title “Step Into Their World”, offering participants hands-on experiences that promoted inclusion, and understanding of adaptive physical challenges.

This tri-national initiative—“Arab Collobration”—was designed in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, and SDG 11: Sustainable Cities & Communities).

It was organized in collaboration with:
• Al-Azzam Toastmasters Club
• Palestinian Sports Federations
• Football and Gym Academy – MSA University
• Egyptian Federation of Recreational Games

The event aimed to raise awareness about disability inclusion, highlight success stories, and promote the transformative power of physical activity for individuals of all disability types.
