
MSA University Celebrates Empowerment of 450 Women with Graduation of Second “Sokar El-Bayoot” Cohort

October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) celebrates the success and empowerment of 450 Egyptian women with the Graduation of the Second Cohort of “Sokar El-Bayoot” Project.
As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting developmental projects and economically empowering Egyptian women, Lebaladna Development Foundation, chaired by Prof. Dr. Nawal El Degwi, Head of Board of Trustees at MSA University, and Eng. Engy Mansour, Chairperson of Lebaladna Development Foundation and Director of Human Resources Department at the University—celebrated the graduation of the second cohort of women participating in the “Sokar El-Bayoot” project. The initiative is also held under the auspices of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work, in collaboration with Haya Karima Foundation.
The ceremony was attended by Ambassador Nabila Makram, Head of the Technical Secretariat of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work; Mrs. Ahood Wafi, Head of the Board of Trustees of Haya Karima; Dr. Bothaina Mostafa, Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees; Dr. Marwa Fakhry, CEO of Haya Karima; alongside a distinguished group of leaders and officials.
This stage of the project trained 100 women in the art of making various types of confectionery through a comprehensive program combining hands-on training in confectionery factories with theoretical sessions covering:
- Food Safety and Hygiene
- Digital Marketing
- Financial Inclusion
- Communication Skills
- Understanding Taxes
- Principles of Entrepreneurship
Since the project’s launch in March 2023, around 450 women have been trained, representing diverse groups including women with disabilities, cancer survivors, burn survivors, and women recovering from addiction. The program aims to reach 1,000 beneficiaries by the end of 2025.
During the celebration, Prof. Dr. Nawal El Degwi expressed her great pride in the tangible achievements of the project, wishing every graduate success in launching her own business to serve her community. Eng. Engy Mansour emphasized that every woman who joined Sokar El-Bayoot is a beacon of hope for her family and her society.
