Basma Magdy

October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) would like to congratulate Basma Magdy, a graduate of the Faculty of Mass Communication (Broadcasting Department) as her documentary film and her graduation project โ€œOmm Setyโ€ won the Best Documentary Short Film Award at the International Retro Avant garde Film Festival in Cairo. This is the first award the documentary has received after participating in a number of international and local festivals.

The documentary tells a story of the reincarnation of a foreign woman with an Egyptian priestess from the 19th dynasty in the Temple of Abydos – in Sohag Governorate, which was the reason for the fame of this place and it became one of the most important tourist attractions in Egypt, and a large number of foreign countries went to visit this temple.

 The documentary is a graduation project, awarded with distinction, under the supervision of Dr. Noha Samir Mahgoub and Mr. Loay Fahmy, Faculty members at the Faculty of Mass Communication.
