MSA Pharmacy Students Visit Children’s Cancer Hospital Egypt (57357)

As part of the Clinical Pharmacy Department’s commitment to connecting academic knowledge with real-world practice, the Faculty of Pharmacy at MSA University organized field visits for its students to Children’s Cancer Hospital Egypt (57357).

During the visits, students explored the hospital’s outpatient pharmacy and learned about its automated ROWA dispensing system. They also gained practical insight into medication safety by observing how doses are verified according to patients’ weight and laboratory results.

The students were introduced to the role of technology in supporting safe and efficient medication management, including the use of chemotherapy infusion pumps and the Pyxis medication management system. They also observed the role of clinical pharmacists within the multidisciplinary healthcare team across the inpatient wards.

The field visits provided students with valuable exposure to the clinical pharmacy environment and allowed them to connect their academic learning with practical applications in patient care.

This enriching experience contributes to strengthening students’ clinical skills, expanding their understanding of hospital pharmacy practice, and preparing them for their future professional roles in healthcare.
