Field trip to Rawabet Theatre

Because theatre promotes us to advocate for new and diverse perspectives, the Faculty of Languages organized a field trip to Rawabet Theatre, Down Town Cairo. Fourth year students of the Comparative Studies pathway were accompanied by Dr. Nagla El Hadidy, Vice Dean and Professor of Drama to attend the Danish play, “Cook” or “Tabakh”, which is part of the D-CAF’s, Contemporary Arts Festival 10th edition on the 9th of October . The show is co-created by Jasper Pederersen and Nassim Soleimanpour.

The theatre field trip comes as a constituent practical part of the students’ comparative studies in the fields of literature, cinema and theatre where students are given the opportunity to explore the world of performance across time, space, and cultures as well as the connections between literature and other forms of cultural expression. Students who joined the trip had not only great time but also a chance to develop their critical thinking and creative skills.
