The Computer Systems Engineering (CSE) Department at the Faculty of Engineering at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) is honored to launch the Cryptography Competition for the Spring 2025 semester as part of its academic and extracurricular initiatives under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Nahed Sobhi, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Prof. Dr. Samer Ibrahim, Head of the CSE Department.
Competition Details
Duration
– First Round (Prize 1): April 20-26, 2025
– Second Round (Prize 2): April 27-May 3rd, 2025
– Third Round (Prize 3): May 4th – May 10, 2025
– Encryption Algorithms: RSA – AES – Autokey
– Encryption Technique: Three-layer encryption using the listed algorithms
– Competition Platform: Online- MSA E-Learning (access via QR code)
Evaluation Criteria
Participants will be evaluated based on their ability to decrypt the encrypted page and retrieve the original plaintext. Submissions must be logically sound and accurately decoded.
Participation Guidelines
1. Eligibility: Open to 3rd, 4th and 5th Computer Engineering and Communication students from the Faculty of Engineering.
2. Winning Criteria: The first three students (or teams) to successfully decrypt the challenge will be awarded.
3. Team Formation: Participation is allowed individually or in teams of two.
