October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) celebrates World Environment Day on June 5, 2022. This year's celebration comes after the university launched its green strategy last March, a few months away from the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 27) to be held in Sharm El Sheikh from 7 - 18 November 2022.
COP27 Environment Day will be celebrated at The World Summit of 2022 under the slogan "We Own Only One Earth,". This event will be calling for transformative changes in policies and choices to enable humanity to live in harmony with nature in a cleaner, greener and more sustainable manner. We only have this planet, it is our only home, and we must protect its limited resources.
"We only have one land" is the slogan of the 1972 Stockholm Conference, which saw the creation of the United Nations Environment Programme. Fifty years later, with the three global crises of climate change, biodiversity loss and the continued endangerment of our planet by pollution and waste, the slogan is more relevant than ever.
The university hosts a constellation of experts and specialists where various environmental issues are presented - the experts are mentioned according to their order in the Presentation
The Event is organized by Prof. Nour El-Gendy (Professor of Environmental Sciences) & Prof. Tarek Saleh (Dean of Arts & Design Faculty)
