Celebrating Arabic Language Day with Calligrapher Sameh Ismael
October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) marked the International Day of the Arabic Language with a special event celebrating the richness and artistic beauty of Arabic. The highlight of the event was the inspiring session led by the renowned Calligrapher and Visual Artist, Sameh Ismael, the designer of the official Egypt logo used by "The Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority."

The event was under the esteemed patronage of Prof. Dr. Tarek Saleh, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design, and Prof. Dr. Hany Elsaid, Head of the Graphic and Advertising Arts Department. Both faculty leaders emphasized the importance of connecting modern design practices with cultural heritage, showcasing how traditional art forms like Arabic calligraphy continue to inspire contemporary graphic design.

A special acknowledgment goes to Dr. Samer Saad, the event’s organizer, whose meticulous planning ensured the day’s success. Gratitude is also extended to Dr. Rania Reda for her unwavering support and collaboration in making this event memorable.

The session captivated the audience, particularly the students, who actively engaged with Sameh Ismael’s insights on the evolving trends in graphic design. Through a dynamic presentation, he explored how Arabic calligraphy can transcend traditional boundaries and serve as a foundational element in modern branding and visual communication.

The event provided a unique platform for students to deepen their appreciation for the Arabic language and its artistic potential, learn about innovative approaches to integrating cultural heritage into contemporary design, and gain inspiration from a leading figure in the industry, sparking ideas for their creative journeys.

The International Day of the Arabic Language celebration at MSA University was more than just a commemoration—it was a vibrant exchange of ideas and a tribute to the enduring legacy of Arabic as a language of culture, art, and creativity.

As we look forward to future events, the Faculty of Arts and Design remains dedicated to nurturing talent and fostering a deeper connection between cultural heritage and modern artistic expression.
