About
Nature Code Club (NCC) is a proposed cross-faculty hub at MSA University where science, nature and wellness meet hands-on discovery, gamified learning, and field adventure. This plan outlines the club’s leadership structure, committee mandates, and first-semester activity roadmap, as requested by the Faculty of Pharmacy.
Vision
To be the ultimate student hub where science meets adventure and fun — inspiring curious minds from every discipline to crack the secrets of medicine through interactive discovery, gamified learning, field trips and hands-on experimentation.
Mission
To empower MSA students across all faculties in an inclusive hub where scientific exploration meets experiential learning; bridging science and adventure, and transforming complex medical concepts into interactive discoveries through field trips, gamified learning, competitions, and practical experimentation.

Committee Mandates
Scientific & Exploration Committee
Led by Youssuf Ayman & Alia Maged
Builds the club’s core scientific content. Since most participants come from medical-field backgrounds, activities are designed to go beyond textbook-level demonstrations and focus on discussion, deduction, and applied knowledge rather than depending on continuous wet-lab access.
Activities:
- Toxicology Mystery Night: Teams solve a fictional poisoning case using symptoms and lab-value clues to identify the toxin and antidote.
- Build-a-Drug Challenge: Teams design a theoretical drug for a given disease target and pitch its mechanism and trade-offs, Shark-Tank style.
- Nature’s Pharmacy Sensory Table: Blind smell and taste identification of common herbs and spices, matched with their bioactive compounds and related modern drugs.
- Rapid Case Rounds: Short clinical scenarios are displayed on screen, with teams competing to identify the likely diagnosis or treatment.
- Guest Rounds: An informal Q&A session with a pharmacist, resident, professor, or specialist discussing real clinical dilemmas.
An optional hands-on laboratory session may also be organized once per semester whenever laboratory access is available.
Gamification & Experience Committee
Led by Sama Sayed
Transforms scientific content into interactive, competition-driven, and memorable experiences using accessible and easy-to-run formats.
Activities:
- Kahoot / Quizizz Trivia Battles: Fast-paced, phone-based scientific competitions.
- Mystery Diagnosis Role-Play: A 20-questions-style activity where participants work together to identify a diagnosis.
- Campus Scavenger Hunt: A QR-code clue trail around campus linked to pharmacology and scientific facts.
- Science Speed-Networking: Students rotate in pairs to share scientific facts, ideas, or stories.
Media & Creative Committee

Manages the club’s public identity, creative content, communication, and audience growth.
Responsibilities:
- Produce weekly “60-Second Science” social media content.
- Design event posters, QR flyers, promotional materials, and merchandise.
- Manage social media channels and pre-event campaigns.
Logistics & Operations Committee
Led by Mohamed Ibrahim
Ensures that club activities and events are organized efficiently and operate in accordance with university procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Secure campus permissions and room bookings.
- Manage budgets and sponsorship requests.
- Coordinate equipment and laboratory material logistics.
- Track attendance for certificates and volunteering hours.
Session-by-Session Semester Plan
Proposed Semester Sessions
The programme consists of eight sessions, beginning with an introductory meeting and concluding with a flagship closing event. Each session includes a clear objective, main activity, required materials, and brainstorming questions designed to encourage discussion and generate ideas for future club activities.
Session 1 — Welcome & Orientation
Objective:
Introduce the club’s vision and mission, welcome members, and create an engaging first experience.
Activity:
Science Speed-Networking icebreaker, followed by an introduction to the club’s vision, mission, and planned activities.
Materials:
Name tags.
Brainstorming Questions:
- What is one health myth you have always wanted to see explained or challenged?
- If you could invent a wellness gadget, what would it do?
- What topic from your studies do you wish felt more connected to real-world practice?
Session 2 — Toxicology Mystery Night
Objective:
Apply pharmacology and toxicology knowledge through an engaging deduction-based activity.
Activity:
Teams solve a fictional poisoning case using symptoms and laboratory-value clues to identify the toxin and appropriate antidote.
Materials:
Printed case packets, answer key, and timer.
Brainstorming Questions:
- What combination of symptoms would make you suspect poisoning?
- How would you explain this case to someone without a medical background?
Session 3 — Trivia Battle
Objective:
Create an energetic learning experience and encourage friendly competition between students from different faculties.
Activity:
Kahoot or Quizizz scientific trivia competition.
Materials:
Phones or laptops, projector, and prepared quiz.
Brainstorming Questions:
- Which question challenged you the most, and why?
- What topic should the next trivia battle focus on?
Session 4 — Nature’s Pharmacy Sensory Table
Objective:
Connect familiar natural substances with pharmacology and modern medicines through sensory learning.
Activity:
Participants identify herbs and spices through smell or taste and match them with their bioactive compounds and related modern medicines.
Materials:
Herb and spice samples, cups or blindfolds, and answer cards.
Brainstorming Questions:
- Which natural ingredient surprised you most as a source of a medicinal compound?
- What other everyday ingredient might have interesting pharmacological properties?
Session 5 — Prescription Detective
Objective:
Strengthen clinically relevant problem-solving skills through an interactive activity.
Activity:
Teams review anonymized prescriptions and identify deliberately included errors such as incorrect doses, drug interactions, or contraindications.
Materials:
Printed prescription cards, error key, buzzers or timer.
Brainstorming Questions:
- What type of prescribing error do you think poses the greatest risk to patients?
- How could pharmacists identify and prevent such errors in practice?
Session 6 — Antidote Challenge: Escape Room
Objective:
Deliver a larger interactive event that attracts both club members and the wider student community.
Activity:
An escape-room-style puzzle challenge in which teams race against time to solve scientific clues and find the correct cure or antidote.
Materials:
Clue letters, puzzle cards, and challenge materials.
Brainstorming Questions:
- Which clue was the most challenging, and how did your team solve it?
- What theme should be used for the next escape-room challenge?
Session 7 — Guest Rounds / Alumni Panel
Objective:
Provide students with real-world exposure and direct interaction with healthcare professionals and academics.
Activity:
An informal Q&A panel featuring a pharmacist, resident, professor, alumnus, or relevant healthcare professional discussing real clinical experiences and dilemmas.
Materials:
Chairs arranged for discussion, prepared question bank, and microphone if available.
Brainstorming Questions:
- What is one question you have always wanted to ask a healthcare practitioner?
- What case or topic from your studies would you like to hear discussed from a real-world perspective?
Session 8 — Decode Wellness Day & Semester Wrap-Up
Objective:
Showcase the semester’s activities, celebrate members’ contributions, and conclude the semester with reflection and recognition.
Activity:
A flagship event bringing together selected activities from previous sessions, followed by a semester wrap-up and recognition of participants and volunteers.
Materials:
Committee materials from previous sessions, event materials, and certificates for volunteers and attendees.
Brainstorming Questions:
- What achievement from this semester are you most proud of?
- What should the club introduce next semester?
- What challenges could arise during the event, and how can they be prevented?
- What small detail could make the club experience more memorable?
