Bioinformatics Horizons: Advancing Microbiology and Beyond
The Faculty of Pharmacy at October University For Modern Sciences And Arts (MSA) proudly highlights the success of the recent Scientific Day organized by the Department of Microbiology and Immunology under the theme “Bioinformatics Horizons: Advancing Microbiology and Beyond.” The event offered an inspiring journey into the digital transformation of microbiology and its expanding role in modern healthcare and biotechnology.
The Scientific Day featured a distinguished hybrid lineup of experts, including international contributions from Mohamed Samir (UK) and Afaf Abdelrahim (USA), alongside in-person sessions delivered by MSA’s talented young academics: Mai Amer, Arwa Selim, and Kareem Talaat.
The sessions explored cutting-edge topics including machine learning in biological data analysis, metagenomic approaches in human health, and modular engineering for next-generation biopharmaceuticals, reflecting the rapid evolution of microbiological sciences in the era of bioinformatics.
A key highlight of the event was a special recognition ceremony celebrating high-achieving students in microbiology courses (Fall 2025 semester), honoring their academic excellence and dedication to scientific growth. This celebration reflects the Faculty’s ongoing commitment to nurturing the next generation of scientists and researchers.
The Faculty extends its gratitude to all distinguished speakers, faculty members, and attendees for contributing to the success of this impactful scientific day, which reinforces the university’s vision of advancing science, innovation, and academic excellence.
