WELCOME TO MSA FACULTY OF MASS COMMUNICATION
The faculty of Mass Communication provides the students with progressive curricula with a focus on digital and artificial intelligence applications in order to fulfill the complex demands of the job market of the future. The faculty has three departments, each offering a distinct program with two specializations, outlined as follows:
· The Department of Journalism offers a degree in Multimedia Journalism and the two specializations are Digital Journalism and Social-Media.
· The Department of Broadcast offers a degree in Broadcast Platforms and the two specializations are Production and Webcasting.
· The department of PR and Advertising offers a degree in Strategic Communication and the two specializations are Corporate Communication and Marketing Communication.

Admission Requirements for Faculty of Mass Communication
* Other foreign certificates including certificates from Arab countries are evaluated at the Admission Office in accordance to the regulations set by the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education.
Going Abroad.
1. Greenwich Summer Programme:
Students of the Faculty of Management have a chance to travel to Greenwich University in the UK for two-three weeks of the summer course to achieve the practical part of the course while the theoretical part is conducted in MSA University prior to their travel to the UK. The students then return to MSA University for course revision and Final Exam.
2. Exchange Programme:
According to an exchange programme between the Faculty of Management Sciences and Westminster Business School in the UK, some of our students travel for an entire semester to Westminster University. Candidates are selected according to their profile, CGPA, as well as personal interviews. .
3. Master’s Scholarship:
Greenwich University awards scholarships annually to the top graduates to pursue their master’s degree.
Student Presentation
Board of Study and Student Representation.
The purpose of the board of study is to provide a forum for discussion between students and staff involved in all aspects of the course.
The membership includes:
- Chair (Dean).
- Director of Quality Assurance.
- Director of Student Affairs.
- Advising and Registration Manager.
- Relevant course leaders.
- Student Representatives.
- Support Services Representatives.
- Secretary to take the minutes.
The students volunteer as representatives at the start of each academic year and students’ affair ensures that all various interests on the course are represented. Student representatives are responsible for notifying the board with the students concerns, suggestions and complains. A meeting is held during each semester normally in the weeks 6-8 as declared in the quality assurance calendar. Dates of the board of studies are published on MSA website.
The agenda must include all obligatory items but further items suggested by student representatives and members of the committee should be added where appropriate.
The minutes should cover all agenda items and include a summary of the main points of discussion and an action/outcomes list. Any actions required should include the timescale, the name of the person responsible and when a report back to the board is expected, they should also include progress of actions from the previous minutes.
Academic Activities
1. Model of United Nations Annual Activities:
The Model United Nations is a student based intellectual replication of different UN organisations such as General Assembly, Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), Security Council and other multilateral bodies. Within the Model UN, students play roles as ambassadors for an assigned country or non-governmental organization (NGO) in a simulated session where they debate current issues on the council’s agenda. While playing their roles as ambassadors, delegates prepare speeches, formulate draft resolutions, negotiate with associates and adversaries, resolve conflicts, and execute the Model UN conference rules of procedure, which are similar to the actual UN rules and charter, in order to resolve problems that affect countries all over the world.
2. Stock Market Simulation:
Every year we look forward to the Stock Market Simulation, organized by the faculty of Management Sciences, not just for the simulation itself but also the insightful preceding sessions.
3. Competitions:
3.1. Young Taxation Competion:
The Faculty of Management Sciences participates in the yearly competition organized by “Ernst and Young” called “Young Taxation Competition Professional of the Year”. Faculty of Management Sciences of Modern Sciences and Arts University selected the talented Mirna Mohamed Shehab of accounting discipline to represent Egypt in a contest for best accountants of "Taxation System", among worldwide universities.Mirna Shehab got the first place in that contest which made her eligible to be nominated to represent Egypt in Netherlands which will be held tentatively between November 30th : December 4th, 2014
3.2. Auditing Competition:
Auditing Competition organized by the Faculty of Management Sciences and one of the big four accounting companies; with the participation of public and private universities in Egypt.The Audit Simulation and Competition is an educational activity in which an Academic Sponsor (one of the big four accounting companies) prepares real life several accounting case studies that the participants share and discuss for two days.
The main aim of this simulation is to give the students an idea of what it’s like to be actually working in an accounting firm or entity, to further prepare them to what they will face as they set their foot off the university campus to professional life.
3.3. MSA Tax Simulation:
The Faculty of Management Sciences at MSA University is strengthening its relationship with the big four Accounting firms in Egypt. The Faculty of Management Sciences invites these firms for a tax simulation in order to decrease the gap between the professional life and the academic life in taxation. The tax simulation includes sessions about most of the types of tax within the Egyptian tax law.
4. Workshop:

CV Writing, Dress for Success, Interviewing Skills, Business Etiquette, Communication Skills, Positive Attitude, Behavioral and Communication Styles, and Presentation Skills.
5. Field Trips:
The main reason for these field trips is to match between theories and practice for students according to the requirements of each course.
5.1 Factories:
The Faculty of Management Sciences organizes several field trips to different factories. Some of the previous factories included: Rich Bake, Fine Hygienic Paper Co., Juhayna Food Industries.
5.2 Services Companies:
The Faculty of Management Sciences organizes several field trips to different service companies. Some of the previous companies included: Egyptian Stock Market, Egyptian Media Production City, Vodafone.
6. Guest Speakers:

The SU of the faculty is divided into five different committees (Sports, Community Service, Cultural, Social, Press committees). The SU organizes trips, events, and activities.

LeBaladna Charity Visits.
Lebaladna is a development and charitable foundation founded by a group of youth who had the pure intention of improving country through social work and community service started building upon individual efforts since 2006, engaging in small scale charity activities until reaching a massive sustainable scale of impact running two sustainable projects with solid business plans aiming to improve the education and welfare of the population in addition to holding more than tenth of charity & development activities and events all through the year. LeBaladna is particularly grateful to the support of Dr.Nawal El Degwi. So far, Lebaladna has proved that where there is a dream, a strong will and commitment to development, then the impossible can be achieved.
