Laila Ahmed MCOM Student Represents MSA in UN Security Council Simulation

Laila Ahmed Hussein Mostafa Kamel Abdel Rab, a student at the Faculty of Mass Communication at MSA University, proudly represented MSA in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Open Debate Simulation on Women, Peace, Security & Humanitarian Action 2026.

As part of the opening day of the second cohort of the simulation, held at the Egyptian Red Crescent headquarters in October 2026, Laila was featured in the “Meet Our Success Stories” segment, where she delivered the opening speech, marking a distinguished student participation in diplomatic and international affairs.

The simulation was jointly organized by UN Women Egypt and the Youth Leaders Foundation (YLF), in partnership with the National Council for Women and the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC), with the support of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).

The opening day brought together a distinguished group of leaders and representatives, including Counselor Amal Ammar, President of the National Council for Women; Dr. Amal Emam, Executive Director of the Egyptian Red Crescent; Ms. Marwa Alam El Din, Deputy Country Representative of UN Women Egypt; MP Ahmed Fathy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of YLF; Ms. Rana Abou Gazia, Managing Director of YLF; and Maria Tarascon, Gender Project Manager at AECID.

Laila’s participation and delivery of the opening speech reflect the value of providing students with opportunities to engage in international simulations, develop diplomatic communication skills, and gain practical exposure to discussions surrounding women, peace, security, and humanitarian action.

Her participation was recognized as one of the College’s distinguished student success stories, highlighting the achievements of MSA students beyond the classroom and their ability to actively engage with prominent national and international initiatives.
