Science in the Spotlight: Exploring New Discoveries at MSA Biotechnology

The Faculty of Biotechnology at October University For Modern Sciences And Arts (MSA) hosted the October edition of “Science in the Spotlight: Where Discovery Takes Center Stage”, bringing together students and staff for an engaging session exploring recent scientific discoveries and breakthroughs.

The 45-minute session featured discussions on optogenetics and its potential applications in neuroscience and vision restoration, cellular rejuvenation research, and the investigation of honeybee venom-derived melittin in breast cancer research.

The event also highlighted Dr. Ahmed El-Gendy, Associate Professor at the University of Texas at El Paso, as the Scientist of the Month, showcasing his research in magnetic nanomaterials and their potential applications in cancer therapy.

Through interactive discussions and critical evaluation of scientific evidence, participants explored the significance of these discoveries, their potential applications, and the challenges that remain before research findings can be translated into clinical practice.

The initiative reflects the Faculty’s commitment to promoting scientific curiosity, critical thinking, and research awareness within the MSA University community.
