As part of its ongoing commitment to social responsibility, equal opportunities, and fostering an inclusive academic environment, the Faculty of Pharmacy at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) organized an awareness seminar entitled “Inclusion and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.”
The Faculty was honored to welcome Dr. Iman Karim, General Supervisor of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD), whose participation highlighted the importance of empowering persons with disabilities and promoting their full and meaningful integration into society.
The event was attended by Prof. Dalia Mamdouh, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; Dr. Shahira Ezzat, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research; and Dr. Manal Fouad, Vice Dean for Student Affairs.
The seminar featured insightful discussions led by Mrs. Rasha Abdel Moneim, Cultural Advisor to the NCPD, and Dr. Yasmine Matar, National Expert at the NCPD. The discussions addressed the rights of persons with disabilities under Egyptian Law No. 10 of 2018, inclusive practices, social integration, and strategies for overcoming barriers to equal participation.
The event also highlighted inspiring success stories and included a screening of the documentary “She,” directed by Atef Shoukry. The film showcased the remarkable journey of Dr. Iman Karim and emphasized the importance of empowerment, resilience, and inclusion.
An interactive discussion with students provided an opportunity to raise awareness, challenge misconceptions, and reinforce the importance of respect, accessibility, and equal opportunities for persons with disabilities.
The seminar concluded with a recognition ceremony honoring Dr. Iman Karim and the distinguished speakers in appreciation of their valuable contributions to advancing disability rights and promoting a more inclusive society.
Through initiatives such as this seminar, the Faculty of Pharmacy continues to support awareness, education, and meaningful engagement, reaffirming MSA University’s commitment to creating an inclusive environment where every individual is empowered to reach their full potential.
