The Interior Design Department ,The Faculty Of Arts And Design at October University For Modern Sciences And Arts (MSA) in collaboration with SCIB Paints, is organizing a dynamic and immersive workshop designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world industry practice. This special event invites students to explore the evolving world of paints offering a deeper understanding of how finishing materials play a crucial role in shaping interior spaces. Through this experience, students will gain valuable exposure to the painting industry, including its latest trends, technological advancements, and innovative applications that are transforming contemporary design. Also, they will learn about the essential technical aspects of paints, including performance standards and durability considerations.
The workshop goes beyond theoretical knowledge by emphasizing how thoughtful material selection can significantly influence design intent, user experience, and sustainability outcomes.
Experts will showcase a variety of real paint samples, allowing students to directly observe textures, finishes, and color variations. In addition, engaging activities will be integrated throughout the workshop to encourage participation, critical thinking, and collaboration.
The workshop will also provide professional insights into industry practices, helping students become more familiar with specification processes, product selection strategies, and communication with suppliers.
This event is part of the Interior Design Specifications, Quantities, Contracts, and Ethics (BOQ) course activities, under the supervision of course instructor Dr Rasha El Shiaty and Dr Sarah Noaman, The Head of Interior Design Department Prof. Dr. Amany Mashhour and the Dean of Arts and Design Faculty Prof. Dr Tarek Saleh.
