In the Mirror of the Machine – Performance Lecture by Artist Sameh Al Tawil

The Faculty of Arts and Design at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) organized a performance lecture entitled “In the Mirror of the Machine” which was delivered by the Artist Sameh Al Tawil.

Mr. Sameh Al Tawil provided a rigorous examination of contemporary new media practices, emphasizing the evolving relationship between artistic production and machine intelligence. The session combined a coherent theoretical framework with illustrative examples from the speaker’s body of work, complemented by live demonstrations that clarified both methodological and conceptual aspects.

The lecture demonstrated substantial academic rigor, addressing current scholarly discourse in post-digital aesthetics, authorship, and hybrid human–machine creative systems. The content aligned closely with the program’s learning objectives, offering students a comprehensive understanding of emerging AI-driven artistic methodologies.
