Intelligent Health: Integrating AI in Public Health Surveillance and Microbial Diagnostics

The Microbiology and Immunology Department at the Faculty of Pharmacy, October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) is conducting a scientific day under the title “Intelligent Health: Integrating AI in Public Health Surveillance and Microbial Diagnostics” highlighting the powerful fusion of microbiology and artificial intelligence (AI) in shaping the future of healthcare.

Our Level 3 students from Medical Microbiology (1) will showcase innovative posters on AI-assisted differential diagnosis of bacterial and fungal infections, demonstrating how smart technologies can enhance the accuracy and speed of clinical diagnosis and antimicrobial decision-making.

Building on this, Level 5 Public Health students will explore how AI is transforming disease surveillance, pandemic preparedness, and antimicrobial resistance control, paving the way for smarter, data-driven public health systems.

Together, these efforts embody the department’s vision of bridging laboratory science with digital innovation to advance both clinical and community health.
