Field Visit to Zamil Steel Enhances Students’ Practical Insight into Steel Manufacturing

The Civil Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) organized a field trip to Zamil Steel Company for Civil and Architecture students.

During the visit, the students conducted a field tour inside the factory, which is one of the largest factories in Egypt, specializing in the manufacturing of steel buildings and sections. They had the opportunity to observe the detailed manufacturing process of steel sections—from the entry of raw materials into the workshop to the preparation of final products for shipment—all carried out with impressive precision and professionalism.

They also interacted with industry experts who provided detailed explanations of the technical processes and the quality standards applied at each stage, offering valuable perspectives on the challenges and prospects within the steel sector.

The students were privileged to meet Eng. Khaled Saad, the General Manager of Zamil Steel Company, had a moment that greatly enriched their visit.
This enriching experience not only expanded their technical understanding but also motivated them to pursue new pathways in their future engineering careers.
