Pharmacy Students Explore pharmaceutical Microbiology at Orchidia Pharmaceutical Industries

The microbiology and immunology department arranged an enriching field visit to Orchidia pharmaceutical industries for Level 4 Pharmacy students at October University For Modern Sciences And Arts (MSA). Orchidia is one of Egypt’s leading manufacturers of ophthalmic products, as well as a major producer of cosmetics and nutraceuticals.

During the visit, students attended informative sessions and observed essential industrial practices related to Quality Control (QC), cleanroom operations, production processes, and microbiological quality control, gaining valuable insight into how microbiology is crucial in the pharmaceutical industry.

The trip served as a meaningful learning experience, linking classroom concepts from Pharmaceutical Microbiology to real-world industrial applications. It also broadened students’ understanding of professional pathways, expanded their scientific perspective, and inspired them to envision their future roles within Egypt’s rapidly growing pharmaceutical sector.
