The Interior Design Department at the Faculty of Art and Design at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) invites you to an exhibition entitled “Mimic & Make: Biomimetic Furniture Futures” to discover how the elegance and efficiency of nature can inform innovative design made by our Third Level Students who will present a collection of furniture pieces inspired by natural elements such as (Bee nests, butterflies, spiders, beetles, snakes, sea waves, dewdrops, pinecones, and flamingos.
Biomimicry represents a powerful and sustainable design methodology that draws inspiration from nature’s time-tested patterns, processes, and strategies to solve human challenges. In the realm of furniture design, this approach transcends aesthetic resemblance, it explores the deep structural and functional logic that enables natural organisms to adapt, survive, and evolve.
Each piece reflects a unique interpretation of biomimicry, combining creativity with environmental insight.
Professor Dr. Tarek Saleh, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design, will be attending the inaugurating of the exhibition. This exhibition is supervised by Prof. Dr. Ola Hashem and Prof. Dr. Amani Mashhour, with the assistance of AL. Yomna M. Hamdy, AL. Nesma Alaa, TA. Shady Raouf, and TA. Reem Anwar.”
