To ensure safety precautions, students were divided by schedule and sessions were evenly spaced throughout the day.
120 Students attended a morning session with Dr. Ashraf Bakkar at 8:00am covering research process. Followed by a session with Prof. Shaimaa Saeed on ‘Green Chemistry’. The final session was with Dr. Rehab Abdallah on ’Unraveling the hidden biotechnological potential of marine microbial communities’. The other group included approximately 125 students who began with Prof. Shaimaa Saeed’s session followed by Dr. Rehab Abdallah’s session and finally the session with Ms.Yara Ahmed on ‘How to read research papers’.
The sessions from the external speakers were new perspectives on two of the most popular topics marine biotechnology, and green chemistry, bioplastics and their applications.
The focus was on sustainable managment and the efficient use of natural resources, whilst simultaneously reducting pollution.
