At that afternoon, the official opening of the El-Degwi Mosque took place within the framework of the governorate’s celebrations of its National Day,,, and the audience was welcomed by Dr. Nawal El-Degwi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA), Mrs. Mona El-Degwi, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Dr. Khairy Abdel Hamid, President of the University, Ms. Engy Mansour.. General Director of the Department of Resources and Human Development, Deans and faculty members at the university, director Shukri Abu Amira, former president of the Radio and Television Union and media advisor to the university.
After the unveiling of the opening panel and the doing of the Asr prayer in the mosque, the audience listened to a comprehensive presentation on the capabilities of the mosque from Eng. Hosni El-Kamash, founder of Baladna Foundation, and in the presence of Eng. Adel El-Naggar, Head of the 6 October City Authority, Eng. Khaled Sorour, Head of Tourist Villages Authority, and Dr. Amr Al-Wardani
In a television interview with “Egyptian News”, the minister praised the mosque and said that a mosque like this serves worshipers inside and outside the university and directs young people to the correct religion and enlightened thought.
The Governor of Giza also commended this edifice and what it offers to the community and the efforts of Dr. Nawal Al-Degwi in social work, and the attendees also visited the event hall and the restaurant that serves meals for Baladna Foundation in Ramadan last year. The Minister of Social Solidarity praised the close cooperation with the Lebaladna Foundation and praised the youth in the restaurant who prepare and distribute breakfast meals in a large number of needy areas throughout the days of the month Ramadan Kareem.
