The Faculty of Mass Communication at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) recently hosted the highly anticipated seventh annual Media Forum under the theme “Egypt and Its People.” This year’s event celebrated the outstanding graduation projects of 2024 and included a compelling lineup of activities that highlighted the role of media in portraying Egyptian society and its unsung heroes.
In a special tribute, students presented a musical performance honoring the late artist Sayed Mekawy, who was selected as this year’s Person of the Year. Known for his profound contributions to Egyptian culture, Mekawy’s work continues to inspire and resonate with audiences. The musical tribute also included renditions of beloved songs from various other influential artists.
The forum concluded with an awards ceremony recognizing the university’s top graduation projects. A prestigious judging panel, including renowned director Shokry Abu Amira, Dr. Eman Mokhtar, Head of the Cinema Institute, Dr. Mervat Abou Ouf, and director Hala Galal, celebrated the students’ creativity, dedication, and impact on the future of Egyptian media.
