MSA Honors 2024 Graduates and Celebrates Egypt’s Cultural Icons at the Seventh Annual Media Forum
The Faculty of Mass Communication at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) recently hosted the highly anticipated seventh annual Media Forum under the theme “Egypt and Its People.” This year’s event celebrated the outstanding graduation projects of 2024 and included a compelling lineup of activities that highlighted the role of media in portraying Egyptian society and its unsung heroes.
 
The event featured a thought-provoking discussion led by radio host Hend Hazem, with contributions from prominent media professionals such as journalist Amira Said Makawy, renowned media expert Dr. Mervat Abou Ouf, and podcast presenter Shady Sherif. The session focused on the influence of media in shaping community narratives and commemorated individuals whose contributions reflect the essence of Egyptian culture.
 
Attending the forum were esteemed guests, including Dr. Nawal El Degwi, Head of the Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr. Khairy Abdel Hamid, President of MSA University, Prof. Dr. Amani Fahmy, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, and Ms. Engy Mansour, Director of Human Resources, as well as deans from other faculties, professors, and media experts.
 
In a special tribute, students presented a musical performance honoring the late artist Sayed Mekawy, who was selected as this year’s Person of the Year. Known for his profound contributions to Egyptian culture, Mekawy’s work continues to inspire and resonate with audiences. The musical tribute also included renditions of beloved songs from various other influential artists.
 
The forum concluded with an awards ceremony recognizing the university’s top graduation projects. A prestigious judging panel, including renowned director Shokry Abu Amira, Dr. Eman Mokhtar, Head of the Cinema Institute, Dr. Mervat Abou Ouf, and director Hala Galal, celebrated the students’ creativity, dedication, and impact on the future of Egyptian media.
 
The event marked yet another successful chapter in MSA University’s commitment to fostering excellence in media education and connecting its students with Egypt’s rich cultural legacy. Congratulations to all the winners and participants on their remarkable achievements!
