Within the framework of adopting the University of October for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) for the Egyptian state's policies in the field of digital transformation and the use of artificial intelligence technologies as a strategic goal within the state's plan for sustainable development and Egypt's vision 2030,
The Faculty of Mass Communication at MSA University held a new symposium for its series of awareness seminars in this field, entitled Metaverse: A New Era for Mass Media. The symposium hosted two of the most prominent experts they are Dr. Ahmed Bahaa, Regional Director of Microsoft and Advisor to Prof. Dr. Nawal El-Degwi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence, who presented at length the nature of Metaverse technology, its development and its multiple uses currently in medicine, engineering and other fields.
In addition, Metaverse technology is currently capturing the attention of major countries and international companies and will shape the future of the world in all fields, including education, media, and other fields. Therefore, Dr. Sherif Khalifa presented the METATUT city project, one of the promising projects in the Metaverse, as it is the first Egyptian city in the virtual world. Also, The Tutera City project was presented as it is the largest and the first of its kind in this field in Egypt, made with Egyptian hands.
Finally, the documentary film “All Around”, which is the graduation project of the student "Nariman Ehab", a graduate of the Faculty (Broadcasting Department) was shown in the fall 2022 semester.
