Innovation Catalyst 2022 competition

The "Tag Smart" team from October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) succeeded in being qualified for the semi-final stage of the Innovation Catalyst 2022 competition, held under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The competition aims to support student projects and innovative ideas and help them implement them to reach the local and international markets

 

The team of the students is:

  • Lydia Magdy, Asma Ahmed, and Dalia Yasser, 4th level students at the Faculty of Arts and Design, Graphics and Media Arts Department.
  • Muhammed Yasser, 2nd Level student at the Faculty of Engineering, Mechatronics Department.
  • Abdullah Ayman, 2nd level student at the Faculty of Computer Science.

Their project was under the supervision of Dr. Sarah Ahmed, a lecturer at the Faculty of Art and Design (Graphics and Media Arts Department) who helped them in qualifying for the finals.

 

The team was able to pass the evaluation phase of the projects and was on a shortlist consisting of 40 teams. The qualifications took place for the second time after the projects were presented again. Proud to say, the team was able to reach and qualify for the first stage that was consisted of 20 teams.

 

As they attended different pieces of training and workshops to work on their idea and develop it to market it locally and internationally, their idea was based on smartly managing paper waste by developing a smart container for waste that works on recycling.
