Innovation and Sustainability: Highlights from MSA's Faculty of Engineering Exhibition

The Faculty of Engineering at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) conducted its annual exhibition was inaugurated on Tuesday, August 13 under the esteemed patronage of Dr. Nawal El-Degwi, Head of the University's Board of Trustees, and Professor Dr. Khairy Abdel Hamid, President of the University.

 

The exhibition showcased a diverse array of student projects, each reflecting advanced thinking and scientific methodology. The attendees praised the innovative ideas that not only address labor market demands but also align with sustainable development goals (SDGs) and human rights considerations.

 

Moreover, the event was honored by the presence of Prof. Dr. Nahed Sobhi, Dean of the Faculty, along with representatives from the Sabbour Engineering Consulting Office, including Eng. Yasser Al-Mihi, Head of the Projects Sector; Eng. Hamed Galal, Head of the Architectural Engineering Department; Mr. Ali Fattouh, Director of Human Resources; and Pioneer Guest Lecturer Arch. Ramy El Dahan. Also present were Eng. Yasser Ali, founding partner of Food Trucks International; Eng. Ahmed Abdel Halim, Technical Director of Next Gen; and Engineer Alaa Atta, Deputy Purchasing Director of Al-Rowad Company.

 

The highlights from the exhibition included:

  • Architecture Department: Focused on designing facilities to support individuals at psychological risk from violence.
  • Electrical Communication and Electronics Systems Engineering: Offered practical solutions to societal challenges, including autonomous vehicles, food security, and enhanced security applications. Notably, two projects, technically supervised by Valeo, explored AI applications in cars.
  • Computer Engineering Department: Showcased projects addressing challenges in medicine, agriculture, and cybersecurity using artificial intelligence and machine learning.
  • Mechatronics Systems Engineering: Featured innovations in energy harvesting, renewable energies, intelligent robots, and smart devices for the blind and visually impaired.
  • Industrial Engineering: Aimed at improving production line efficiency, such as enhancing packaging line productivity for Nivea and reducing waste in herbal tea bag production.

 

All projects demonstrated a commitment to aligning with the SDGs by promoting responsible production and waste reduction.
