A Contemporary Vision of Environmental Interior Design in Egypt

Within the activities of the scientific conference of the Faculty of Art and Design, Dr. Karam Abdullah, lecturer in the Interior Design Department at the Faculty of Arts and Design, conducted an exhibition entitled "A Contemporary Vision of Environmental Interior Design in Egypt - A Proposal for the Interior Design of a Cultural Centre in Luxor City as a Model".

 

The exhibition was attended by Prof. Dr. Nawal El Degwi, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, Prof. Khairy Abdel Hamid, President of the University, Prof. Tarek Saleh, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Rasha Al-Zeini, Head of the Interior Design Department. The exhibition was also attended by Prof. Alia Abdel Hadi, Interior Design Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University, Prof. Sayed Kandil, former Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, and a group of architecture and interior design professors and students.

 

The exhibition is a practical study aimed at applying local environmental design in interior design through a proposal for the interior design of a cultural centre in Luxor.

 

Finally, the exhibition presented design solutions for interior spaces that are compatible with the environmental architectural design, expressed the local Egyptian identity, and met the contemporary material and social needs of cultural centers in the Egyptian countryside.
