Conclusion of the Startups Olympics at MSA University

Under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and the Innovation Support Fund (ISF), MSA University successfully concluded the Startups Olympics in collaboration with the ISF. The event was marked by the participation of students and graduates who presented innovative ideas and entrepreneurial projects aimed at achieving economic and social development.

The day was opened by a speech from Prof. Khairy Abdel Hamid, President of MSA University, who praised the students' efforts and the support provided by the faculty members. Also in attendance were Prof. Tarek Saleh, Head of the Center of Excellence and Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design, Assoc. Prof. Ghada Abdelhady, the general supervisor of the competition and Director of the Technology Transfer Office at the university, and Assoc. Prof. Ahmed Gomaa, Faculty of Biotechnology.

In his speech, Prof. Tarek Saleh highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship and presented statistics showing the number of university graduates who have become entrepreneurs, spread across various countries, and generating millions in revenue. He commended the university's role in supporting these graduates and guiding them towards success.

Assoc. Prof. Ghada Abdelhady mentioned that the organization of the competition stages took five continuous months in collaboration with the Innovative Support Fund, praising the joint efforts that contributed to the success of this significant event.

The successful organization of the event was largely due to the efforts of Dr. Ghada, Dr. Ahmed, and Biotechnology lab team under the supervision of Prof. Tarek Saleh. We were also honored by the presence of distinguished entrepreneurs and consultants, including:

  • Architect Consultant Magdy ElTaher
  • Eng. Ahmed Elsharkawy, CEO of ChemTech company
  • Eng. Alaa Hamed, CEO of Emaar for contracting, well services and solar energy

We are pleased to announce the winners of the top three places:

  •  1st Place: Team RD-Bio
  •  2nd Place: Team RoboDoc
  •  3rd Place: Team HunterZ

The competition was highly competitive between 15 teams from faculties: Biotechnolog, Engineering, and Management Sciences, with evaluation grades being extremely close. In fact, some teams were just 1% away from securing a top spot! This reflects the immense efforts and creativity shown by all participants.

We wish all participants success in their future endeavors. Additionally, we wish the winners the best of luck as they advance to the regional competition, hoping they continue to the final stage to secure funding for their startups, starting from 500,000 EGP.

We are proud of all the participants and grateful for their efforts. We look forward to seeing their projects come to life and contribute to building a better and more innovative future.
