Cinema and Theatre Department Graduation Projects 2024

Students of the Department of Cinema and Theatre presented a distinguished group of graduation projects for the academic year 2023-2024. Their topics varied, some of which shed light on the impact of technological development on society and humanity in the future, while some topics relied on highlighting the concept of societal transformations in Egypt and the change in cultural and moral concepts under the influence of randomness.

 

We also note that some topics have adopted to highlight the impact of epidemics on contemporary humans and the extent of the suffering they are exposed to. All of these concepts were presented through cinematic or theatrical treatment of designs for dramatic scenes and characters within a distinct creative and plastic framework.

 

Some of the discussed projects included:

 

  • Good Health & Wellbeing through the Novel “Deer hunting season” by Ahmed Mourad.
  • Quality Education and Partnership to achieve the goal discussed in the Novel “Ekadoli” by Hanan Lashin
  • Reduced inequalities through the visual adaptation of the novel “the bird that drinks tears” by Lee Yeongdo
  • Zero Hunger, No Poverty, Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions are visualized in the novel “Wekallet Attia” by Khairy Shalaby
  • Quality education is discussed through the cinematic adaptation of the novel “The Spider” by mostafa mahmoud
  • Industry Innovation and infrastructure are discussed through the novel “Zikola's Land” by Amr Abd el hamid
  • Good Health & Wellbeing are visualized in the cinematic adaptation of the novel “Blindness” by Jose Saramgo
  • Quality Education and No Poverty through the novel “Shadow of the wind” by Carlos Ruiz Zafón
  • Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions are adapted theatrically through the Novel “Death’s Discipline” by Tawfik el hakim
  • Industry Innovation and infrastructure are adapted in the novel “The Time Machine” by H. G. Wells
  • Good Health & Wellbeing through the novel “The Silent Patient” by Alex Michaelids

 

These projects were evaluated by a scientific and technical committee of senior professors from Egyptian art colleges, including:

 

  • Prof. Omneya Yehia , Professor of scenography at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Vise Dean of Fine Arts, Helwan University
  • Prof. Taher AbdelAzeem, Professor of scenography at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University

 

Supervision of the graduation projects was carried out by:

 

  • Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim, Professor of scenography at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Minia University, and Professor in the Cinema and theatre department at MSA University
  • Associate Prof. Zeinab Habib, Professor in the Cinema and theatre department at MSA University
